First Years, Second Years and Third Years all entered the gym. Jodie stuck with me as we walked down the middle then turned down an aisle and sat down. After around 10 minutes the last remaining students entered the gym and sat down while the teachers closed the doors and people quietened down as the principle and vice principle walked up on stage along with 4 other students dressed in the uniform of the student council. All girls. The principle stepped up to the podium; holding a stack of papers in his hand.
"Greetings. Students. As you all know I'm Mr. Alexander. The Principal of Deena Academy."
I knew of him; though he barely comes out of his office on the third floor of the school. He took the job as Principal after his father retired around 3 years ago. He was maybe late 20's early 30's.
"As you all may have heard of the rumours which are traveling around the school recently about students going missing; these rumours aren't false. It has only recently the faculty of the school have noticed this happening when we were properly informed by a young woman who has been studying these disappearances over the past days along with assistance from other students. We are not yet prepared to bring the police to investigate the school but if anymore students go missing we will not hesitate to do so."
The crowd started to chat amongst each other. Some in shock, some in surprise.
"Quiet, quiet. For more information of these events we have your student council president to talk with you all. So please remain silent and listen closely." He stepped away as two of the student council members pulled back the curtains while another hit a remote which triggered the large sheet of white to drop down covering the back stage wall. Another girl then walked over to a computer which sat next to the stage then typed something in before the projector activated and placed an image on the white sheet. In a blank room sat a young woman; brown hair which was tied in a pony tail and she had golden eyes. Sharp ones which seemed to intimidate even the most delinquent students at this school. Her expression remained cold before she started to speak.
"Greetings fellow students. I am Audrey Clark. Student Council President of Deena Academy and School Idol Leader of Suu. Most of you will know me but as for the First Years you haven't seen me around the school grounds this year. This is because me and my fellow student council and idol members have been away over seas visiting other schools and preforming live shows. It hasn't been till recently that we were informed of the disappearances which are taking place around the school. So as soon as possible my co-workers have been sent back to school in order to find out what are causing these disappearances and how to stop them as soon as humanly possible. As the principal has stated we only plan to take further action with the police if another student or person goes missing. For now I would like to inform you of what we plan to do in the meantime."
She stood up from her desk.
"From this day until stated the student council members will be roaming around the school for any suspicious activity which may be taking place. Firstly; Absolutely no actions against school rules or the law will be accepted and all those who do will be sent straight to the Vice Principal for punishment or even worse. Second; Please report anything suspicious to the student council or faculty members as soon as you possibly can. The only way we will find out what's going on is with your help. Third; If you witness anything such as a crime immediately find a student council member or faculty then find a safe place and call the police. And Forth; Don't go anywhere without someone with you. This includes the bathrooms, shower rooms and clean up times for putting things into the incinerator. Over the weekend we will be implementing the school with security cameras to capture anything which may link to what are causing these things also. These are for everyone's safety and hopefully capture more information for us to put a stop to this."
She paused for a moment.
"You're all probably wondering why I'm going to such extreme measures over this." She then slammed her hands onto the table in front of her. "I believe we have a dangerous person on school grounds."
...
Surrounding students gasped in surprise while they glanced at one another. Not being sure if the person sitting next to them was who she was referring to or if this was all just some sick prank.
"Let me mention why I bring this up."
"Mare Smith."
"Betty Ann"
"Joshua Weldon"
"Eden Jones"
"Abigail Martin"
"Mila Foster"
"Anna Noel"
"Do these names sound familiar? These are the 7 students who have gone missing ever since the year started. Of course as most of you know Betty Ann was found dead down town in an alley while Abigail Martin was a victim to suicide due to all the bullying which she went threw due to assisting in her dads... business."
She stood up straight again, seeming to get calmer.
"I believe the other 5 have suffered the same end. Having their life cut short by someone for an unknown reason. However."
A girl started to go up onto stage; she had black hair in a single long braid and light cyan eyes.
"This is Grace Shurbin. She is the school reporter and the one who writes up the notices for the school each morning at the school entrance. She is the one who has been investigating these disappearances and has informed me of the possibility we have a dangerous person among us. If you have any information please either tell us or her about what you know. As I stated before the only way we will find out what's going on is with your help. To find Grace she is in the room next to the design class. All the changes I mentioned before will be put into effect next week; Monday morning. Please, everyone stay safe and stay out of danger."
She bowed before the screen cut to black and students started to chat with one another about the information they were told. Though I didn't take in what they were saying. All I did was stare at her; the girl who came up on stage. The girl who had apparently been investigating everything and told everyone. I had no idea she had started taking stuff down for who knows how long. How could I be so stupid...
I didn't look away from her though; she had now become a threat to me. I needed to get rid of her just like the others but with what the student council president said that'd be a whole lot difficult with the new statements set in place... not to mention the fact she's always surrounded in groups of people. And if not she's in her office which is right next to where George is...
"Uh... Anemone...?" I looked to my left, Jodie was staring at me rather worried. "Are... You ok...?"
"I'm fine." I replied before looking back at her."...It's ok to be scared you know... I'm scared to."
...
"Let's stick together from now on... She said not to go anywhere alone so... That's why we should. I dunno what I'd do if you went missing to..."
She looked away a little. "...or...murdered..."
After a moment I sighed. "Yeah... yeah..." That seemed to get a small smile across her face as she hugged me tightly. As much as I didn't want to... I hugged her back.
------
Students started to leave the gym and soon we followed in place. Jodie beside me; we walked back to class. Though the mumbles and concerned looks didn't stop after what had just took place. If anything this had put the entire school on edge. I needed to find a way to get rid of that reporter AND delete whatever she had taken down about what she found out about the crimes...
Though it wasn't going to be easy...
I sighed again. I had a long weekend ahead of me.
