It was finally Christmas Eve and our little girl was so adorable. Gabby and Matt were over spending the evening with us. Since we've been friends, we've had a Christmas tradition of opening one present from one other person on Christmas Eve (it was always pajamas). So we were back at it this year. I had taken a bunch of cute and funny pictures of Ember and now she was laying in Kelly's arms. I was sipping hot cocoa when Gabby suggests we start the presents.

"Sure!" I agreed before the four of us moved down to the floor.

Gabby and Matt gave each other there's first. Both of them were really cute. Kelly handed Ember off to Gabby so we could go. Then I gave mine to Kelly. It was a pair of red checkered pajama pants and a white t-shirt that says 'Warning: Property of a Female Firefighter'.

"This is awesome. I love it. Thanks babe" he grinned, giving me a quick peck on the lips.

"I'm glad you like it" I smiled back.

"Your turn" stated Kelly as he handed me a box.

Inside was a t-shirt that said 'I'm Full of Holiday Spirit. (It's called Vodka)'. I about died laughing. Then under was a pit of booty shorts and across the ass it side 'Property of Lt. Severide'. I shook my head and gave Kelly a kiss.

"This is freaking awesome. I love it baby" I chuckled.

"There should be one more thing in there" he stated, peering over the box.

"Oh yeah" I commented, finding a small box in there.

I opened it up to see a diamond ring staring back at me. Kelly gentling took the box from my hands, kneeling in front of me.

"Corinthia, I knew from the moment you came into the firehouse having beat my record that your we're going to play a big role in my life. I never realized how huge of a role you'd end up playing. You were my best friend and you understood my like no one else but Shay ever did" he swallowed, still smiling at me, "You're beautiful, tough and I don't deserve you. I definitely don't deserve that adorable little girl you've blessed me with, but I want to spend the rest of my life with you by my side. You and Ember are my world babe and I want to build the rest of my life with you. So, will you marry me?"

"Of course I will, you idiot!" I exclaimed with a few tears staining my face, causing them to laugh.

Kelly chuckled as he slid the rung on my finger and I drew him into a long kiss. I was ecstatic to be engaged to the love of my life. Our life my be backwards crazy, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. When we pulled apart, Matt and Gabby hugged us both.

"Who would have thought the day would come where we'd see Kelly Severide down on one knee, asking a single woman to marry him?" teasingly asked Matt.

"I've done it once before! It was no where near as good as this one, but I had done it" argued Kelly.

"Fair point" chuckled Matt.

Chatter filled the room while I took a picture and sent it to Kelly (because he asked me too). I was so so so excited to eventually be Mrs. Kelly Severide.

And then I ran outside to take a fun picture for my own Instagram post. A while after that Matt and Gabby headed home, leaving me alone with my family. Ember was asleep in her swing while Kelly and I were curled up by the fireplace. I was twirling the shiny ring on my finger as I leaned against Kelly's chest.

"So you really like it?" he asked, catching on to my movements.

"Yeah I really do. It's absolutely stunning Kelly. And the ring wouldn't matter anyway. I'm going to be your wife and that's all that matters to me" I smiled, giving him a quick kiss.

"Good. It'll be fun having two Severides around the firehouse".

"I'll be interesting that's for sure".

"But it'll be great".

We both fell silent as we gazed over at our sleeping angel. She was surprisingly a good sleeper which I definitely appreciated with having Kelly gone on shifts now.

"Man, I can't believe we made that" sighed Kelly, causing me to chuckle.

"I know right! She's perfect".

"You know what that means".

"Oh yeah. She's going to give us a run for our money when she's older. All the boys will be crushing on her and she'll probably want to do all these risky things like you".

"No boys will be doing anything on her. Once hey see her scary firefighter daddy they'll go running for the hills".

"Eventually you'll have to let the poor girl date baby".

"Nope. Not until she's like thirty".

"Oh boy. Between you, and Matt, this poor girl's never going to have a boyfriend".

"Then my job is done".

I rolled my eyes and playfully slapped him, "We've got plenty of time to argue that later. Right now are biggest problem is keeping her on her schedule".

"Very true. We've been pretty good at that so far".

"Yeah. We're rocking this parenting thing!"

"Hell Yeah we are!"

We highly fived whole both of us laughed uncontrollably. As we calmed down I glanced over at the clock and saw it was 12:02.

"Merry Christmas fiancé" I smiled, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"Merry Christmas babe" he grinned before looking over at the sleeping Ember beside us, "And Merry Christmas to you baby girl".

"Merry Christmas princess".
