"Are you sure?" I asked Stella as we chatted in the kitchen.
"Of course! You two deserve a night alone. Plus Sylvie is really excited to take care of the twins," chuckled Stella.
"She's baby obsessed! By the way, how's living with her and Cruz?"
"Good! I felt weird at first, taking Otis' room and all, but the three of us actually have a lot of fun."
"I'm really glad it's working out for you."
"Yeah. Definitely better than living in Hermann's attic space."
"I could imagine it would be."
I glanced into the living room to see Kelly was almost finished braiding Ember's hair.
"He's really good at that," commented Stella.
"I can't tell you how many Youtube videos he watched. I tried teaching him myself, but he just got frustrated. He's gotten really good at it that I'll sometimes have him bread my hair."
"Awe. Kelly's a total dad. That girl's got him wrapped around her finger."
"Oh yeah. Completely. But the two of them are adorable together."
He finished and Ember came running towards me, "All done Momma!"
"Are you ready to have a sleepover with Auntie Stella, Auntie Sylvie, and Uncle Cruz?"
"Yeah! Sleepover!"
I helped Stella get the twins carriers buckled into her car before we got Ember in. Once she had all the bags in the car, I gave Ember a huge hug.
"You be a good girl and listen okay? Auntie Stella is in charge. Got it?"
"Yes momma."
"Good. I love you," I smiled, giving her a million pecks on the face.
"Stop momma!" she giggled, "Love you more."
Kelly then stepped in to say his goodbyes while I thanked Stella again, "If you have a questions, just call."
"We'll be fine. Promise. Now go have some fun with you hubby."
I hugged her before we watched them drive off. The two of us headed into the house and just collapsed on the couch. The house was the quietest it has been since the twins were born. It was so damn nice.
"So what do you want to do tonight?" I asked Kelly with a smile.
"I know exactly what I want to do," he grinned wildly.
"Oh really? What would that be?"
"I say we...order chinese food and watch a movie in bed."
"God, you know how to make a girl happy."
The two of us chuckled before Kelly placed the order. Once the food got here, we headed up to our room. I slid into a pair of my comfy sweatpants and one of Kelly's shirts while Kelly decided on boxers and gray sweats. He opened up the food while I flipped through Netflix. It didn't take long for me to find the perfect date night movie for us.
"What about this?"
"I haven't seen this movie in forever. I love it."
"Perfect."
I clicked play and The Bounty Hunter with Jennifer Anniston and Gerard Butler. It was an action comedy with some romance which was right up our ally. These were the nights I missed. The simple lay around dates where we could just unwind together. I didn't need all those big fancy dates. I just needed him.

"You know, before I met you...nothing made sense. I was grieving Shay...I was grieving my brother... and then I got transferred to 51 and everything changed," I admitted as Kelly held me close, "Your friendship is honestly what saved me then."
"Yours is what helped me after losing Shay."
"Right. And then when I started that spiral and the stupid sexcapades, whether they were with you or randoms, again you were the one to pull me out in a way. I mean technically it was Ember, but you gave me her. In the middle of my chaos, you were always there. And being with you, that's what makes sense."
"After my engagement fell apart, my mom told me something I've never forgotten. She said Find a heart that will love you at your worst, and arms that will hold you at your weakest. And after our years of friendship I knew you were that person. And then when you were in your darkest, most confused moments at the beginning of you pregnancy I realized that I would still rather be with you, at your worst. Because you're my best friend and I love the crap out of you."
"I love you too. I'm so happy you knocked me up."
"Me too. We've made some damn good kids."
"Maybe one day we'll make one more."
"Excuse me?"
"Don't worry. That won't be for years. My vagina needs a break from pushing babies out of it for a while."
"Fair enough. That little one will be worth the wait."
"Damn right they will."

"Ugh the date night was so nice. I really owe you one guys," I admitted, sipping my coffee in the main area.
"Anytime! Ember had so much fun playing with Stella. And I absolutely adore the twins. Eli makes the cutest faces and Ash makes the most adorable sounds. Uh, I was in heaven," Sylvie confessed.
"I think the best part of the evening was when Cruz finally decided to hold one of the babies. So he picked up Ash, held him over his hand, and the kids puked... in his mouth," chuckled Stella, making the rest of us laugh.
"That's totally Kelly's kid!" Casey joked.
"I scrubbed the hell out of my tongue to make that taste go away. It was horrible," Cruz cringed.
"Joe, I've literally been pooped on...and have pee sprayed at me, multiple times! Trust me, some puke in the mouth is nothing," I commented, making him cringe even more.
"God, children are gross."
Boden walked into the room while we were laughing and looked directly at me, "Corin! There's a man on the apparatus floor looking for you?"
"Uh okay."
I walked out to the trucks, puzzled at who was here. I opened the doors and walked past the squad table, stopping dead in my tracks when I spotted the man. He had this smug grin on his face that made my stomach lurch into my throat.
"Hey sweetheart."
"Dad?!"
