Chapter 40

"Im just realizing every time I've been pregnant, it's overlapped Thanksgiving," I spoke to Kelly as we bustled around the house, getting ready for our very late Friendsgiving.

"Huh, I guess you have. Weird," he chuckled.

"Mommy!" Ember yelled as she ran in.

"What's up princess?"

"Can I help you with making the dessert?"

"Sure baby girl. I come get you when it's time."

Just then there was a knock on the door before I heard familiar voices. Matt and Sylvie walked in with big smiles on their faces. They had come early to watch the Bears game.

"Happy Thanksgiving," Sylvie greeted and they hugged us both.

"Corin, we good?" Kelly checked, making me chuckle.

"Yeah go ahead, watch your game. Just make sure the kids aren't destroying the house."

"Thanks babe."

Pressing a kiss to my cheek, the boys grabbed Bears and headed to the living room. I head a small tv in the kitchen, so I put the game on there. Thankfully Sylvie was helping me prepare dinner.

"So, you excited to find out the gender tonight?" I asked Sylvie with a grin.

"So excited! I'm kinda hoping for a little girl because Matt would be great with her, but I think Matt's leaning towards a boy. I don't think he really cares though. What about you guys?"

"I mean we've got both kinds," I joked, "We're okay with whatever. I kinda want another girl to even it out. Plus Ember would be the best big sister to a little girl. And I love seeing Kelly with a baby girl."

"It's so cute. I guess it would kinda be another first experience for you to."

"Yeah of it was a girl it'd be my first girl pregnancy fully going through it with Kelly and with everything hopefully being healthy," I explained, "I think Kelly's just excited I'm getting pregnancy boobs again. We've already got a fund for when we're done having kids, he's getting snipped and I'm getting a breast lift."

"Yeah I believe that."

Eventually people started showing up. Kim and Adam game with the kids, Stella, Cruz and Chloe with baby Brian, Hailey and Jay, Mouch and Trudy as well as a few others. Kim and Chloe came and joined us in the kitchen as the kids ran around causing chaos per usual. Thankfully the Bears won, so the next game was playing on the tv.

Ember was sitting on the island, finishing up making the dessert brownies before I popped them in the oven. Chloe let me hold baby Brian and he was adorable. I honestly couldn't wait to have a little one again. They were adorable.

"Dinner!" I called out as I continued making faces at Otis, "You are the cutest little baby."

"Isn't he?" Cruz commented as he came in, pecking Chloe on the cheek.

The boys helped carry all the food to the table while Kim and Stella wrangled the kids, getting them to wash their hands. Once everyone was being seated, I handed Brian back to Cruz and stood by the tables.

"Thanks to everyone for coming. It's so nice to spend this time with family. Everybody dig in."

Everyone ate and chatted with each other. Kelly and I helped make plates for the kids before the sat at their kids table. I looked around and was really happy with this family we'd created and we're still adding to.

After dinner it was time for the main event, the gender reveal. Kelly brought out two pies as well as knives and spatulas. We also brought out plates and the brownies Ember made.

"So how does this work?" Hailey asked curiously.

"So we'll cut the pies at the same time. If it's a raspberry pie it's a girl, if it's a blueberry pie, it's a boy," I explained.

"Ah makes sense!"

Sylvie and I smiled at each other before cutting our pies. Taking a deep breath, Sylvie looks first and I watch as tears fill her eyes.

"It's a girl!" She cried as as we cheered for her and she kissed Matt.

Shooting Kelly a smile, I picked up a piece of ours to see the raspberry filling, "We're having another girl."

"Two little ladies joining the fire family!" Mouch exclaimed, clapping.

"Finally a sister!" Ember cheered, giving me a big hug before moving to hug Sylvie, "And a girl cousin."

Everyone congratulated both of us, giving hugs. That's when Sylvie and I finally got to give each other a big hug, careful not to smack bumps.

"Our little girls are gonna be best friends," Sylvie grinned through teary eyes.

"Oh 100%! I'm so happy for you."

"Welcome to the girl dad family," Kelly grinned and he gave Matt a hug.

"Glad to be a part of it," Matt grinned excitedly, "You're gonna have to teach me what you know."

"Don't worry. I got you buddy."

I leaned into Kelly who pressed a kiss to the top of my head, "We're having another baby girl."

"We are. Are you excited?" I questioned curiously.

"I am. Honestly, I was rooting for another girl."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I love our boys, but there's just something about having a girl that I love. I love Ember and I excited to meet this little princess."

"I love you."

"I love you too."
