Summer

I sit on the picnic table in my back yard. I close my eyes and let the warm wind slowly pass by, making my hair move slightly. I inhale and exhale.

Oh how I love the summer. The way it makes me feel. It sounds strange but I just love the way the sun feels on my skin. How it makes me all warm inside. Its always beautiful out during the summer. It makes all my worries and stresses melt away like a popsicle on a hot day. 

Keith also has the same effect on me. The way he makes me feel warm inside, and how I can't wait for his presence, hes beautiful just like summer. I have always wished I could tell him, I just have to wait for the right time. 

Out of no where Allura gets on to the comms, "Every one get in there lions! We are being attacked!" I ran to blue and flew her out. She was still messed up from the last battle.

They did not notice me drifting off into space away from the battle. 

They really do not care do they? Might as well shoot my self in the stomach right here.

 "Guys?!" I yelled into the comms.

"Lance? Lance where are you?" Keith asked first. 

"I'm drifting off! Help I am going North East from where you are at." I replied. The lions sped over to me. They pushed me down into the castle. I hopped out and looked up at blue.

 "Hey be okay. Okay?" I told her. 

I walked out and met Allura out side of the hangar. 

"Allura is she going to be okay? Do not lie." I asked while she preformed various tests. 

"It seems so." She didnt even look up from the tablet. The others were still fighting the Galra, risking their lives and I am here doing nothing. It caught me off guard to hear Coran screaming. Me and Allura ran towards his direction. He sat there, against the wall, he had multiple stab wounds in his torso, arms, and legs. Allura cradled him trying to put pressure on his wounds. 

"They....are.... here..." He shut his eyes and never opened them again. Me and Allura hid in a near by closet. We heard steps from out side followed by voices. 

"I cant find them I searched the whole ship." One voice said. 

"They are here I know it. We need that blue paladin." A different one replied. 

Me? why? I'm not even that strong. Well its better me then them. 

"Lance trust me" Allura whispered. Before I could even say anything she opened the door and walked out. 

"Im here! We sent Lance on a different mission all the way in Largins-6!" They shot her right in the head. 

"That closet, search it for supplies." 

The soldier found me. They drugged me and took me to a prison ship. They brutally beat me and experimented on me. They changed my genetics and they way I looked. I had heterochromia in my genes and they changed it to my dominate trait which means now one of my eyes is green. I have been here for a while now. I dont know the date or time, it gets all mushed together here. 

I heard a loud blast come from a couple doors down. "Guys get Lance!" 

"Keith? Keith." It took me a moment to realize. A guard came and cowered me mouth to be quiet. I bit his hand and he yelled in pain. 

"You are gonna regret the Lance." He spit out my name like it was poison. He shot me in the stomach. I groaned in pain and rolled over. A metallic taste filled my mouth, it was blood. I spit it out and applied pressure to my wound. 

"K-keith..." I practically whispered. He ran into the room. He gasped at the state I was in. Blood covered the floor. I was pale and my breathing was erratic. I was dressed in old tattered clothes. 

"Lance!" He cried. Tears poured out of his eyes. He held me in his arms....again.

"Heh im sorry."

"What?" He questioned. 

"I wont remember this bonding moment."

"Oh so you remember the last one?" He laughed. 

"I do..." I stared into his dark eyes. He put his hand on my face and moved back my hair. He quietly leaned in and closed his eyes. He kissed me and I kiss him back. I pulled away after a few seconds. I had this feeling, just like it was summer again. The feeling that made me all warm and forget about my worries.

"Keith, you remind me of summer." 

Those were the last words I said to him ever again.
