wanted by bakvgo , u thot i hope you like this.

third person limited following Hongo ( bakvgo told me that's what it was )

he wasn't sure what to make of (y/n) anymore, to be quite frank. he didn't really converse with her, but he didn't completely shut her out like he did with most. sure, he wasn't as good as friends with her as he was with Renji, but maybe he wanted to be. maybe he wanted to be more. he just wasn't sure.

but what he was sure of, is that he'll be damned if he just stood by while (y/n) was being picked on. usually, he wouldn't have made such a big deal, but it was (y/n) and he cared for her, as much as he didn't want to admit that to anyone.

so when he turned the corner, and saw a couple boys pushing her around, he was furious. her book was on the ground, and she was trying to sign to them, but they didn't seem to care. every time she bent down to pick up her book, they would shove her over, or kick the backs of her knees so they would buckle and she'd be on the floor.

"if you're going to say something, say it! we know you can her us with your hearing aids!" a boy sneered at her. that was it.

"hey!" he called loudly, walking towards them menacingly. "you leave her alone!"

"Masamune," one gasped. "we-we weren't doing anything to her, we swear!" they both backed away from her, and she finally picked up her book, dusting off her skirt. Masamune could see multiple red marks on her wrists and some on her legs from being pushed and probably dragged here where no one would see.

"i call bullshit." he stared them down with so much anger he himself didn't even know was possible. he'd only ever been this angry at his coach, but that was another story for a different day.

"sorry, Masamune. we didn't know you liked her," one said. Masamune rolled his eyes.

"it doesn't matter if i like her or not. you shouldn't do this to anyone. period. now scram!" he took a step forward, stomping his foot just to scare them. they ran away, sending terrified looks over their shoulders until they were out of sight. time to put my learning to the test, i guess.

are you o-k?he sighed to (y/n), mouthing the words to himself as he went. she looked momentarily surprised, but beamed at him as she signed back.

yeah, i'm o-k. there was a slight sparkle to her eyes, and he smiled a tiny bit.

my name is H-o-n-g-o M-a-s-a-m-u-n-e, he said, fingerspelling his name. what is your name?

(y/n), she spelled.

"(y/n)," he mumbled. that's a pretty name, he thought to himself. pretty indeed.

thank you, she signed, smiling at him. i don't know what i would have done if you didn't show up. they weren't going away.

you're welcome. anytime. he hoped she was impressed with his sign language skills. it took him hours to finally understand basic things, and to memorize his name.

when did you learn sign language? she asked suddenly, and he sheepishly scratched the back of his neck, face turning slightly pink.

i learned it so i could talk to you, he explained. her face lit up, and his smile grew a bit. he took a deep breath, trying to muster the courage to ask the question he spent the time perfecting for an occasion like this. you and me, can we be friends?

the smile she displayed could have brightened up the darkest room. yes! she signed frantically, trying to cover her face to hide her ginormous smile. but he could still see it.

o-k.

o-k.

i have baseball now. the last thing he wanted to do was break up the happy atmosphere around them right now, but he had to get to practice or he'd be in trouble with his coach, who already wasn't his biggest fan.

maybe i'll watch your practice, she signed, thinking about it thoughtfully.

maybe.

he raised a hand in goodbye as he started on his way to the fields. she waved back, still smiling widely.

that went well, he thought. the bounce now in his step was a little bit more noticeable than it was yesterday, but he didn't mind.

if that was the price to pay for being happy, he'd pay it hundreds of times over. and he'd learn sign language hundreds of times over if it meant he could keep on seeing (y/n) smile like that.

well, that's the sequel to the last one. i hope you guys liked this. i have a feeling that Hongo is like the biggest sweetheart deep down, and he stands up for the bullied whenever he can. just a feeling though.

anyway, comment down any requests you want, with a bit of description for it and i'll try and make it happen. i've updated twice in a week and i'm a lil proud of myself. i don't have a schedule, so my updates are all over the place.

anyhow,
see you later

goodbye! : )
