oof i've never written for him ever before and he's a p new character in the manga so this will def be wrong

third person limited following Sakusa

everyone at school knows that Sakusa Kiyoomi is a germaphobe. it's just a well known fact. he hates crowds and if he didn't like the sport as much as he does, he wouldn't be playing volleyball. if he could, he'd wear his face mask on the court.

the only person he can tolerate being close to is (y/n). it's just his thing, i guess. he sorta relies on her in a way. whenever he goes anywhere, she's usually there with him. her being there makes the crowds a little more bearable.

as much as he dislikes physical contact, he finds himself yearning to hold (y/n)'s hand as they walk through a crowd.

like now; his team and him were currently at nationals. they on their way to the court they'd be playing on. but, surrounded by strangers, Kiyoomi had buried himself into a corner. it was as if he was waiting for a clear path to open up in his wake so he could get by easier. but that wasn't going to happen.

he had his hands shoved into his pockets, and he felt as if he was being suffocated. so many people; so many strangers. so many sweaty bodies all crammed together in these halls. he shivered just thinking about rejoining the crowd to find his teammates.

but then she was there. in front of him, smiling her always gentle smile.

"Kiyoomi," she said softly. "what are you doing in the corner? did someone put you in timeout?" she joked, laughing lightly.

he laughed bitterly. "yeah, right." even with his face mask on, (y/n) knew he was frowning. his eyebrows scrunched up and he looked down towards the floor. "i hate crowds."

"i know, Kiyoomi," she said softly. (y/n) held out her arm, motioning for him to link his with it. "i'll help you through the crowd, yeah? more people will steer-clear if two people walk like this."

slowly, he linked their arms together. he could bare this. they both had their jackets on, so there was no skin-to-skin contact and he was relieved.

(y/n)

she could feel his muscles through his jacket. even though she was completely fine in crowds and didn't really have a large concern about germs, she felt safe with Kiyoomi. as if he was protect her from everything.

she cherished walking with him like this. it really showed how much he tolerated her; if he let her do stuff like this. (y/n) felt honoured that he did things like this with him, no matter how much of a germaphobe he was. he would never do this with any of his teammates, and that spoke volumes. all of them were so tight-knit, it was amazing.

Kiyoomi was amazing. one of the top three spikers in Japan? that's crazy!

but, just between you and me, he was number one in her heart.

this was pretty shitty but i've been itching to write with him and this just came out, you know?

the next oneshot will for sure be diamond no ace, so stay tuned for that! i'm sorry if you don't like / aren't acquainted with Haikyuu!! i didn't really want to make a whole new book for them because i wouldn't write that much for them anyway so i just decided to stick them in this book. i'm terribly sorry if you were/are here specifically for diamond no ace, although most of them will still be that :)

haruichi is definitely next :)
