i haven't written for this boy that much :(
this was requested by Crazier535 ! thank you so much for requesting <33third person limited following Haruichi
Haruichi had always known, deep within him, that he loved (y/n). she was just perfect in his eyes. she was always there for him and his brother, all throughout his childhood. he was the same age as her, and the two of them along with Ryosuke got along quite nicely. they lived two doors down from each other, and they played at the park almost every evening together. it was no wonder Haruichi developed feelings for her.
but clearly, she didn't feel the same.
let's start at the beginning of this little story, shall we?
***
back on Friday, Haruichi has finally decided that he was going to tell (y/n) that he loved her. there wasn't going to be anything fancy or anything extraordinary. he was just hoping that she felt the same.
he had never told anyone about his feelings for (y/n) before, but Thursday morning, he confided in Sawamura and Furuya. maybe it hadn't been the best idea, but he was nervous and scared and he just needed to talk to someone, right? or else he'd go mad and chicken out.
"guys, i'm in love with (y/n)."
it had come as quite a shock to the two pitchers, but they grinned nonetheless. well, Sawamura grinned. Furuya just had a thoughtful look on his face.
"my little Harucchi is finally growing up!" Sawamura has exclaimed happily, brushing away a few fake tears from his eyes.
"it's no big deal, really. i'm planning on confessing to her tomorrow."
"that's a huge deal, Harucchi!" Sawamura laughed loudly. "i'm sure you'll get the girl in the end!" Furuya nodded his head.
"good luck," he said quietly.
perhaps the two weren't the smartest but they were damn good friends, no?
so, the following day Haruichi found (y/n) on the third year floor after classes had ended. today was the teams one day off during the week, so he had to take advantage of that.
one of (y/n)'s friends had told Haruichi that she was delivering papers from their teacher up to one of the third years teachers. he turned the corner when he got to the top of the stairs, but immediately regretted his whole life decisions.
there (y/n) was, in all her glory, with his brother. she looked like she was in heaven. she stared up at him with big, dopey eyes as she stuttered out a faint confession to Ryosuke. Haruichi couldn't read his brothers face. was he happy? unhappy? did he like her too? or did he just want to be friends?
before Haruichi could see his brothers response and possibly upset himself more, he turned right around and rushed down the stairs. he almost tripped as he left the school and ran to his dorm. his upperclassmen weren't there, so he was free to do as he wished.
and so he cried. he sobbed his heart out because the one girl he had ever liked like this; his childhood friend that he was utterly in love with - loved his brother.
he had never known that love could be so painful. he always thought that it was full of joy and happiness after looking at his parents together. but that was only the case for a couple who loved each other back. ones who didn't suffer from unrequited love.
***
the next day, Haruichi was back to the old grind. he couldn't continue to obsess over his clear rejection. he had baseball to play, games to win. but anyone who knew him could tell he was down in the dumps. his throws weren't as sharp, his catching was a little off. this is the last tournament the third years can play in; he can't afford to not be in top condition.
in fact, it got to the point where Coach Kataoka had to tell him to just for run for the day with Sawamura and Furuya, who had been arguing too much and that was their punishment. it sure sounds like them, but this doesn't sound like Haruichi.
Sawamura and Furuya were both shocked that Haruichi had been forced to run with them. but the two shared a look and they both knew, even for their low IQ, that Haruichi had been rejected by (y/n).
neither of them knew what that was like, so they couldn't sympathize with him. but they did know that the best thing that they can do right now is to be themselves so Haruichi can take his mind off of (y/n).
so the pair of pitchers started an argument half heartedly. it was about one running faster than the other, but it did the trick. Haruichi had a tiny smile on his face as he caught up with them and told them to quiet down a little.
Haruichi didn't know that they did it for him, but if he did he probably would have started crying again right then and there. and he wouldn't be sorry.

uneditedyo yo my dudes. what's up? Haruichi angst coming at you. thanks so much for requesting this, Crazier535 !! i had fun writing it even though it was sad :(
do you guys think this needs a sequel? i'm not sure if the sequel would be for Haruichi or Ryosuke with (y/n), but comment what you think and i'll make it happen. give a little description as well, to make my life a little bit easier if you don't mind.
but, of course requests outside of a sequel to this are always open! comment it down and i'll make it happen.
since you guys said you wanted it, here's a snippet of the first chapter to my upcoming book
my dearest masamune | hongō masamunedear Masamune,
god, i feel like such a weirdo right now. writing to the person i like with absolutely no intention of letting him see it? who on earth does that? i mean, other than me? most likely no one.
i'm not quite sure what i'm even supposed to say in these types of letters. it would be a bit cliché to confess my undying love for you.
so that's that. i hope you enjoyed this oneshot!! my dearest masamune is almost complete! i just have to finish up the last chapter and then maybe an epilogue(?) and an authors note and it should be posted! i'm looking forward to posting it, so i hope you are to :)
see you soon,
goodbye!
