this boy is so underrated :( i don't see anything about him really anywhereprompt; a huge snowball fight broke out on school property and for some reason we went after each other.
third person limited following (y/n)
she doesn't know what happened exactly, but one minute she was about to start walking home, and the next she was on a sorted team having a snowball fight.
it wasn't easy. i mean, there were multiple boys from the baseball team on the other, and she's only really thrown balls in gym class. there may be some force behind it, and she may be good at dodging it, but she wasn't as skilled as some other people.
she saw some people doing summersaults while making a snowball, then chuck it at another person.
and of course, this happened the one day she doesn't bring gloves.
(y/n) saw a boy who stood apart from everyone else. literally, he was standing to the side as he watched everyone unfold. and that, she decided, was her target.
she didn't go unnoticed, however, as he locked eyes with her, and started making a snowball. he had gloves that looked super duper comfy and warm, and she envied him. but that's not the real reason she went all out against him.
the real reason was because when he threw the snowball, it almost hit her in the face.
Enjō Renji, first string member of the baseball team with a mean arm, almost hit her in the face with a hard packed snowball.
next thing she knew, (y/n) was making a dozen snowballs and was chucking them as hard as she could in the general direction of Enjō. her hands were freezing, but this meant war.
she was breathing heavily into her scarf by the end, which fogged up her glasses. she had hit him a total of two times, but one just skimmed his arm and the other hit his ankle. Enjō had hit her every time he threw a snowball, and he'd thrown around ten. five of them hit her shoulders, three hit her stomach, one hit her collarbone and the other hit her arm. curse the baseball team.
i'm down to one last hope, she thought, looking at her last snowball. if this hits him, i can walk away proud. if it doesn't, well, i suck at throwing snowballs.
he watched, clearly amused as she wound up her arm like they do in baseball. she lifted her leg, eyeing his shoulder. if she hit him there, it was mediocre. hit his face? ten points to Gryffindor!!
she wouldn't be able to look him in the eyes ever again if she did this wind up and still missed. she sent a silent prayer to whoever was above. whether anyone heard it or not, she'd never know.
she threw down her arm, still looking at his shoulder with burning intensity. all he would have to do was side step and he'd dodge it.
at least, that's what everyone thought. instead of hitting his shoulder, before he could move, the snowball nailed Enjō in his stomach. (y/n) covered her mouth as she stared, wide eyed, as Enjō bent over, clutching his stomach.
"shit," she whispered. but he wasn't injured in the slightest. he started laughing, and it grew to the point where he could barely breathe and was bent over backwards now, face to the sky as he laughed his ass off. (y/n)'s face dropped as she watched him. she actually thought she hurt him. imagine the trouble she'd get in if he was actually hurt. some people's hearts can't take stuff like that.
breathing heavily, Enjō shuffled over to her, still trying to calm down his laughter.
"oh my god," he choked out. "did you think your snowball hurt me?" he covered his mouth with the back of his hand, but it was still obvious that he was smiling widely.
"yes," she said quietly. (y/n) looked down at her feet. was he making fun of her?
"well, you did look pretty cute when you were winding up to throw the ball," he said, as if weighing the options. "if you want, i can teach you how to properly throw a ball with that form."
maybe he wasn't making fun of her.
"of course, it did look pretty funny as well. but mostly cute."
cute? what?

uneditedi just don't see anything about Renji on this place so i decided to add something just for him. he deserves just as much hype as Miyuki as a catcher. don't forget he's able to catch Hongō's monster pitches.
he doesn't look too bad either ;)
sequel mayhaps?
requests are OPEN!! comment down one and i'll make it happen :)
anyhow, i hope you enjoyed this. i really liked writing this!!
