to be quite frank, she was pissed at Mima. how selfish could he get? he didn't seem to want to do anything more than the bare minimum for the team, and frustrated (y/n) to no end.
but lately, he's sorta been a suck up. helping clean up after practice. he's been studying with the team more, and when someone tried to ask her a question he'd quickly answer it. "it's this, don't be dense". shit like that. and she was getting tired of it.
why did he care all of a sudden? according to him, she was just a manager. why was he kissing her ass recently? she needed a straight answer out of him. so no matter how badly it went last time, she needed to speak with him alone.
so, she dragged him away just as she did before. "i'll have him back in tip-top condition, sir!" she said to the coach, and took him to the same spot as last time.
"what do you want now?" he demanded. she scoffed.
"you really don't know?" he shook his head. "you've been sucking up to me lately! why?"
"sucking up to you?" he questioned. "what do you mean?"
"for having good grades, you can be incredibly stupid. you've been helping me. cleaning up after practice, studying with the team. why?!"
"why not?" he was indifferent. couldn't she just accept help when it's given? why couldn't she just go with it? she questions everything.
"because it's my job, you dumbass! and you seemed to want to have nothing to do with helping the team a week ago. what changed?" she was getting even more riled up every time he gave a vague answer. 'why not'? really, Mima? you've gotta have a reason.
"so it's a bad thing for me to help you?" it seemed like she had backwards reasoning. she got mad when he didn't put in any effort to help anyone, but when he actually did she had a problem with it.
"no! that's not what i'm saying!" she kicked an empty can that was on the ground. it hit the wall and landed perfectly in a trash can.
"then what are you saying?"
"why are you changing? is it to help me? because i don't need your pity!" she was beyond pissed now, but there was something else. desperation? gratefulness? "no one has ever really helped me before. why did the first person to do it have to be you?"
"because. . ." he trailed off for a moment, thinking hard about how to word it. "i thought everyone deserves help at sometime. even someone like you."
"well, i'd rather you help your team! if you waste your time helping me and not your team, you'll lose games, Mima. and i'm going to be able to deal with twenty crying teens after a loss. so, focus your attention on your team from now on. i'm fine."
she faced away from him, so he couldn't see her smile and the hint of a blush. perhaps he wasn't as big of a dick as he could have been.
"fine." that would probably be easier anyway. at least they probably won't get mad at him when he helps them.
"so, friends?" she asked, turning to look him in the eyes, holding out a hand.
his eyes. god, they were something else. they looked like his hair, but they held something one could mistake as wisdom. in reality, they were just his cold, calculating eyes. not ones you usually fall in love with.
but that might be the road (y/n) is about to go down.
"friends, i guess." he shook her hand.
friends. didn't think that was possible for Mima. at least we'll get along now. with the team as well; i pray Mima can continue to get along well with them.

uneditedi might come back to this mini series sometime. Mima is a very interesting character. so thank you, AnimeMangaAddicted for requesting him! i had fun writing this.
okay, this is very off topic, but i can feel myself falling in love with Kuroko no Basket all over again. honestly, i forgot that all the people in that basically have super powers. but it's really interesting. i recommend it to anyone looking for another sports anime to watch. it may seem a little weird in the sense that they might be a little overpowered, but i promise it's worth it. to me at least.
anyhow, the next one should be up sometime soon, so stay tuned!
see you soon,
goodbye!
