The next day morning
Akshadh's POV
The alarm buzzed, and I reached for my phone, dismissing it. I rubbed my half-open eyes and got out of bed. After washing my face and completing my routine, I opened my door slightly. Dhiya and Allen were sleeping peacefully.
"Daddy! Are you standing there?" Allen asked, embarrassed.
I signaled her to keep quiet, indicating I was going to take a bath. But Dhiya turned on the lights and sat up, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Akshadh, why are you standing there? Come in."
I hesitated, not wanting to intrude. "Don't mistake me, Dhiya, I came to see Allen."
"It's okay, I understood," she replied gently.
Allen held my hand, dragging me towards the bed. "Sit with me, Daddy. I'm sleepy, and let's sleep together."
I resisted, "No way, Allen, I just got up."
Dhiya offered, "Akshadh, it's her wish, so be with her, and I'll go out." She stood up.
But Allen insisted, "Daddy, please, I want to sleep with you both."
I looked at Dhiya, feeling a mix of emotions. "Allen, I'll do anything for you, but I have an important meeting now," I lied.
Allen pulled Dhiya's hand. Just then, Dhiya lost her grip and was about to fall. I caught her hand, and we both fell onto the bed. I found myself facing her, my hand encircling her waist. Our eyes met, and my heart raced.
In a moment of impulse, I planted a soft kiss on her forehead. Dhiya looked shocked, and I felt embarrassed, realizing I had overstepped.
Allen laughed, "Daddy and Mumma, you both fell down!"
I quickly got up, trying to explain, "Dhiya, I'm sorry. I thought you would fall off the bed."
Dhiya didn't respond, leaving me wondering if I had made a mistake.
I couldn't forgive myself for my behavior. I felt like a common man who takes advantage of a woman when she's alone. I didn't want to argue with Dhiya to make it right. I knew Allen wouldn't let me go unless she fell asleep. As Allen played with Dhiya in my lap, Dhiya looked at me often, but didn't smile. I felt ashamed.
After a few minutes, Allen fell asleep, and Dhiya took her to bed. I quickly left the room, and Dhiya followed me. I started preparing breakfast, and Dhiya sat down, watching me. "How's your finger now?" I asked, concerned.
"It's okay," she replied.
"Akshadh, did you inform Mr. John about our plan?" she asked.
"Yes," I replied.
Then, she went back to the room. I finished preparing breakfast and set the table. Later, we ate together, but Dhiya didn't talk to me. She only fed Allen.
Just then, I received a call from Mr. John. "Dhiya, John is here," I said.
"Okay," she replied, and we took Allen to the balcony as planned.
"Why are we here, Mumma?" Allen asked.
"John uncle will come now. We're waiting for him," Dhiya replied.
"I want to see him now!" Allen exclaimed happily. Mr. John was the one person Allen would respond to when she ignored everyone else.
"There he is," I said, pointing to Mr. John, who was standing downstairs with two kids.
Allen turned and saw them. "John uncle!" she called out loudly. Mr. John waved at us.
But then Allen's face changed. She started sweating and became nervous. "Dadddddyyy!! Who oooo areee theyyy?" she asked, her voice trembling.
