Sam enjoyed being able to walk the streets of New York, with people who seemed like friends. Ned was cool but seemed to want to test her every chance he got. Sam thought maybe it was something friends do, like he was making sure she was good enough for Peter. Regardless Sam was still enjoying her time and only felt the nervous feeling come back when Peter announced that they had made it to his apartment. “Just so you know Stacy, May tends to be very, uh excited,” Peter said warning Sam of what was going to happen next. However, no amount of a warning would prepare Sam for what happened once Peter opened the door to the small Queens apartment. “Oh my goodness! You must be Stacy!” May screeched as Sam walked. May promptly hugged her and continued by saying “oh my you are so beautiful, and Peter you were right about her eyes they really are amazing!” Sam could feel that her face was as red as the top May was wearing. “May!” Peter said aggravated with his aunt. “Sorry its just that Peter never has girls over,” May said while Peter turned red and rolled his eyes. “Um, I am here too” Ned said sarcastically. “Oh yeah, hey Ned” May said almost indifferent. “Well,  we would love to stay, but we should get to building that Death Star, yeah?” Peter said trying to recover from the heavy embarrassment May had put him through. Sam nodded her head in agreement along with Ned and they moved on to Peter's room. Sam smiled to see that her and Peter's room had similar decor. Very few, but posters of what she could only assume were Peters favorite movies, desk up against the main wall and a bookshelf filled with plenty of books. “You like Harry Potter!” Sam squealed at Peter with excitement. If Sam wasn't hanging out with her dad in his lab, doing school work, or watching movies, you could find her in Stark Towers extensive library. Reading has always been a favorite hobby of Sam's. Her dad would read to her when she was younger and when she got older she discovered books she liked on her own. Though she read practically anything fiction, her favorite was Harry Potter. She liked that Harry and her often felt the same. Trapped with no friends. But Harry always seemed to make it. Eventually he made friends, fought and defeated evil and in the end had a wife and kids. It gave her hope of a future. It was just a fairy tale though. But as she scanned Peters face as he spoke she felt differently. Maybe fairy tales weren't as far off as she thought. “Of course I like Harry Potter, who doesn't? Ooooh what house are you?” Sam giggled as Peter spoke. Could he possibly be any cuter! “Ravenclaw with originality, wisdom, and intelligence. I say that describes me pretty well. Plus Pottermore said so, so you can't argue with that. What about you Parker?” Peter smiled and replied “Hufflepuff, also Pottermore tested.” Sam beamed at him and decided to go for it. “Loyalty? I love it” She locked eyes with him blushed and looked away. “What about you Ned?” She asked to keep him included but also so her cheeks could return to their normal olive color. “Ah I would like to think I would be a Gryffindor, but just like my pal here I am stuck in the poor leftover house Hufflepuff” Ned said sadly. “HEY hufflepuff is great!” Peter argued back. “I agree” Sam said, again smiling at Peter and this time he caught her gaze and smiled back, his cheeks slightly pink like hers. “Alright love birds let's get to it! Death Stars don't build themselves,” Ned said jokingly to the two. Though Sam wanted to argue back, she accepted the comment made, maybe because she was accepting the fact that she did in fact like Peter way more than a building buddy. The three of them promptly started to attempt to put the Death Star together. Through laughs, many failed attempts, tons of empty Dr. Pepper cans, and having to start over many more times than any of them had wanted to, they were finally finished. They sat there staring in awe, not wanting to move afraid even a breeze could send it back into pieces. “It's the most beautiful thing I have ever seen,” Ned said. “Though it is amazing, I have seen more beautiful things,” Peter said glancing over at Sam. Her face was calm, cool, and collected but inside her head she was screaming. “I should take a picture of it, to remember it perfect like this before it gets knocked over,” Sam said taking out her phone. “Cool phone, I have never seen one like that before,” Ned said interested. Sams face fell white. Of course HE would notice her phone. It originally had been a Iphone but of course her dad made a few minor upgrades to it, making the phone look different than any other on the market. The only other person who had one like hers was her dad. “Huh, I have seen something like it before,” Peter said. “Ah no, you haven't” Sam spoke not thinking before she opened her mouth. “Yes I have Mr. Stark has one, how did you get one?” Peter pressed thinking it odd she had the same custom phone as Tony. “Uh you know working at Stark Towers has it perks” Sam nervously lied.  “Are you sure? because as many times as I have been to Stark Towers I don't remember seeing anyone else with that phone before,” Peter said, knowing that she had lied to him. “How many times have you been to Stark Tower, exactly?” Sam said intrigued by his comment about having been there many times. Ned looked over at his friend with all the color leaving his face. “Well I mean, Tony has helped me with projects in the past before” Peter replied hoping this would be enough for Sam, unfortunately for Peter it wasn't. “So now he is Tony and not Mr. Stark? He told me he had a secret project, who are you Parker?” Sam said confused. “I think the more important question is who are you? You must be more important than a receptionist for Mr. Stark to trust you with information of a secret project,” Peter said with a slight smile. Why was she acting so strange? Was she even the receptionist or was that a lie too? His head began to spin. Sam started to begin explaining the truth to Peter realizing that she had worked her way into a hole this time when her phone rang. It was from her dad. Oh no, she had completely lost track of time, he is home for dinner and she isn't. “I have to go, today was awesome let's do it again sometime!” she said freaking out. Despite Peter trying to get her to come back and May asking fifty questions as to where she was going Sam kept on walking straight out of that apartment and saw Happy's car which of course was parked slightly down the street from the apartment. It wasn't until she was in the car that she remembered there was a tracking app on her phone. Her dad had installed it after the first break in at Stark Tower, that way  just in case someone took her he could find her. Why didn't she remember to turn it off? Obviously she was wrong, the universe did not want this to happen. They finally reached Stark Tower and Sam honestly contemplated not getting out of the car. When she finally decided to though, Happy looked at her with a face that read good luck kiddo. Sam couldn't say anything, she knew her dad was more than upset with her already. Sam took a deep breath and opened the door. She drug herself to the elevator, her anxiety rising like the elevator taking her to her punishment. When she finally made it to the top she paused before getting off. Finally she deciding to walk around the corner to the kitchen where she was finally face to face with her father. Tony stared back at his daughter with anger in his eyes and said nothing. While they were looking at each other Sam realized that his face was red and his eyes were puffy. She recognized this face, and realized he had been crying. Frozen in place Sam began to talk “Dad, please I am so sorry I just…” Tony cut his daughter off “No Sam. Me first,” Tony said his voice sounded pained. Sam closed her mouth and nodded. She hated to see her dad this way and to make matters worse it was her fault. She sat down at the table across from him, she saw a single tear fall down his cheek. What had she done, she thought to herself?
