The ride back to Stark tower was awkward to say the least. Sam and Peter both sat in the back of Happys car, with enough distance between them to allow for another person to sit there. They didn't speak the whole entire time. Sam thought to herself that speaking would probably make things worse. At this point her dad had to know if he wanted to talk to both of them. Worse than that, he had to know that either she broke the rules in telling Peter who she really was, or Peter broke the rules and told her who he really was. Either situation wasn't going to end well though, they were both in trouble. Sam looked up to see that Happy had the wall down, making it all but impossible to come up with a cover story. She sighed, not knowing what to do. She deciding on pulling out her phone to text the only other person who knew what was going on. She didn't know what Steve could really do, if he could do anything, to help the situation. But he might be able to offer moral support. She finished her text. “Dad knows about Peter and I. I left again and dad sent Happy after us. I am so scared about what is gonna happen. Peter is the one Steve. I can't lose him.” Sam didn't even reread her message she just hit the send button. She adjusted in her seat sitting up completely straight as they turned the corner. Peter could feel himself becoming ill as they approached Stark Tower. The closer they got the brighter the lights became, and the more sick Peter felt. Once the car came to a stop Sam looked over at Peter and offered him a weak yet reassuring smile before stepping out of the car. Peter wished he could just sit there and not step one foot back into Stark Tower. He would be happy if, in that moment, he never saw Tony Stark again. He knew he had disappointed him. But if Peter wanted any chance at really being with Sam, he owed it to himself to get out of the car. Once inside the building Sam made her way to the elevator, Peter and Happy following behind. Once in the elevator Happy made a point to stand in between Peter and Sam. this action made Peter feel even more nervous, but as the elevator doors quickly opened Peter could feel nothing but polarizing fear. He watched as Sam swiftly stepped out of the elevator followed by Happy, feeling his head spin more and more. He took one step out of the elevator, crossed the living room and took a seat on the leather couch, finally coming face to face with a clearly upset Tony. Tony sat in the middle of the opposite couch, Pepper and Happy sat down on either side of him, and Sam on the same couch as Peter but as far away as possible. Looking around she was surprised to see Steve, who stood off to the side close to the kitchen. The tension filled the room as Tony opened his mouth to speak. “So we all know each other, right?” Tony said sternly looking between Sam and Peter. “What do you mean?” Sam said sarcastically. “Don't play dumb Sam you know he's Spider-Man and he knows...” Tony was quickly interrupted by Sam. “He has known, you told him Or don't you remember, you told him to stay away from me after the first night I snuck out.” Tony could feel his blood begin to boil. “You told her about that?” The anger in Tony's voice was clear and sharp as he looked to Peter for answers. “Yes, and I told her about Spider-Man,” Peter spoke like a scared child. “So you promised me you wouldn't do those things then immediately went behind my back and did those exact things.” Tony said trying to keep his voice calm but failing miserably. “Tony,” Pepper said keeping her voice low trying to keep Tony at bay. Tony sighed then began to speak again. “Did you think that was a good idea, with all the Oc stuff going on?” Peter did not respond, paralyzed as if Tony's words were stabbing him. “Did you not think about the fact that having me as a dad was already dangerous enough, did you think that I was keeping her safe for no reason?” Tony couldn't keep his voice calm any longer. He began to question Peter further when a brave Sam stood up in his defense. “It was my idea,” the tension began to become even thicker as Tony looked at Sam, and away from Peter, for the first time during this whole argument. “What do you mean?” Tony questioned. “Well it wasn't all my idea. But after that first night Peter and I both agreed we were too important to each other to lose. He's been coming to see me almost every night after dinner, we would go sit on the top of the tower,” Sam finished. Tony was shocked. Had the situation not been about his daughter sneaking around with a boy, he would have been impressed with the ingenuity. “And you're too important for me to lose, that's why you can't be with him Sam,” Tony said quietly knowing that this would hurt the both of them. “Are you kidding me?” Sam said angrily towards her father. “Tony,” Steve spoke cutting Sam off from saying something else. “Maybe they could still be together, I mean know one knows that Peter is Spider-Man, and know one knows who Sam is. We've all kept Sam a secret for this long, why can't we do the same with their relationship?” Tony stood up, the anger is his body language frightened Peter as he watched him walk over to Steve. He looked deep in Steve's eyes like he was reading his mind. “You knew didn't you?” Tony asked Steve who didn't need to verbally answer. His face said everything it needed too.  “So, not only was Peter lying to me, my daughter was lying and now you too?” Steve still didn't answer Tony. He just allowed him to vent without interruption. Tony began to pace the living room thinking about what to say next. “Alright kid,” he spoke softly looking to Peter, “give me the suit, you're done.” Peter could feel the tears in his eyes, as he reached for his backpack, pulling out the high tech suit without any fight. But before the suit reached Tony's hands Sam grabbed it and moved towards the corner of the room. “Samantha...” Tony started but was broke off by Sam. “No dad, that's not fair, it's not all his fault,” Peter looked up allowing one of the tears fall down his face. “It's okay Sam, I knew it was a possibility when I agreed to keep seeing you,” Peters voice was weak. “No it isn't okay, Peter!” Sam said as her dad looked back at her. “Peter saved my life more then once, he helped you dad. He helped you with Oc. He is a great superhero, he helps a lot of people. And just because he is dating me behind your back, you are going to forget all of that, and just take the suit away?” Sam was fighting back tears herself. “Sam, you don't understand...” Tony tried to reason with his daughter, who immediately cut him off. “You're right, I don't understand dad. I don't understand why you get to have a girlfriend in the public eye. No offense to you at all by the way Pepper. But is it not dangerous for her?” Sam said looking over in Peppers direction. Sam continued, “I don't understand how its okay for every other part of your life to be public, except for me. That's got to be dangerous for you right?” Sam began to feel more and more emotional every time she spoke. “What if something happened to you what then? And then you help a kid become a better hero by giving him a suit and mentoring him. Isn't that dangerous?” Sam said referring to Peter. “Sam,” Tony said weakly realising how hurt Sam was. But Sam cut over him again. “Taking the suit away from him won't change anything dad, not now.” Sam was fully crying at this point and dropped the suit to the ground crossing the room to stand closer to Peter. “He is sweet, and kind. He understands me. He makes me laugh, and has showed me what life is like away from all the crazy superhero stuff, and the walls of this tower.” Hearing Sam talk so highly about him with tears in her eyes made Peter tear up as well. “He watched a scary movie for me despite not liking them himself, and always knows how to make me smile even when I feel like it's not possible and I...” Sam stopped talking scared of saying how she really felt. But she slowly took a deep breath and opened her mouth. “I know I haven't known him long, and that I am only seventeen, and that it doesn't make any sense but dad, I love Peter.” Peter felt like he went into shock. “He makes me feel complete dad, he makes me feel like how Pepper makes you feel.” Tony scrunched up his face, conflicted with himself. On one hand, they both had broken all the rules he set up for them, Sam had also broken all of her safety rules that she had known to follow ever since she was little. He should have been angry. But on the other hand he had never heard Sam speak so clearly and strongly about something before. “Please don't punish Peter, dad. Please understand.” Tony felt like he was waking up from sleeping. He looked at a kid who was strong, funny, and young that was crying on his couch. Yet daring to smile, ready to risk everything for the girl he loved. Then he looked at his daughter. He had saved her, swore to raise her, kept her safe, and gave her the world. Now she was a young lady who stood up for what she believed in, and felt so strongly for someone that she was even sticking up to him. He sighed, picked Peters suit off the floor, and held it in his hands. He slowly turned around to face Peter, “Do you love her?” He asked her softly, feeling a lump form in his throat. Peter looked up and slowly shook his head yes, the tears still falling down his face. Tony couldn't believe what he said next until he had already spoke. “Fine, keep the suit,” he said handing the suit back to Peter who was more shocked. “You can have the suit, and as long as no one figures out who she is or who you are,” Tony paused, “you can still see each other.” Sam caught Peter's red and puffy eyes and smiled. Everything was falling into place.
