“Are you hurt? Pepper told me you fell are you okay?” Tony was trying to sound calm and was failing. “No I died, your speaking to my ghost” Sam said with a straight face. “That isn't funny Samantha that thing could have killed you, speaking of which I should get going.” Tony was about to step into the sleek Iron man suit to take care of the crazed machine man. “Don't bother the kid already took care of it,” Pepper said from the other side of the room turning up the news. Sam listened closely to the TV as it said “Spider-Man saves mall customers as Doc Oc attacks.” “That's the one that saved my life,” Sam said pointing at Spider-Man on the TV. Tony glared at Pepper. “Well the kids got talent I will give him that much,” Tony said turning off the TV. “FRIDAY, do you have any information on this octopus guy?” The A.I. searched for a moment then finally answered “Otto Gunther Octavius is a scientist with a brilliant mind, and has won lots of awards for his work for his studies as a nuclear physicist. In the last few months he has lost his wife and all his money and appraised fame due to a lab accident, now known as Doctor Octopus. Recently he has destroyed more than half of the New York mall. Spider-Man stopped his rampage today, however the police didn't have a chance to arrest him before he ran of.” The A.I. finally finished. “Thank you FRIDAY, I am going to see if I can find this guy. Shouldn't be hard to find with the whole giant metal arms and all,” Tony said heroically. “Hey dad, do you know Spider-Man?” Sam inquired already knowing deep down he did. Tony calmly lied saying “No he’s probably just some kid in his pajamas trying to play with the big boys.” Had Tony been talking about Peter from a couple of months ago he wouldn't have completely been a liar. But with the new high tech suit and all. “He wasn't wearing pajamas dad, he had a really cool suit. Something similar to yours, more spandex though, I just thought it was odd, you asked FRIDAY about Oc but not Spider-Man,” Sam interrupted his thoughts pressing for answers. “Well it doesn't matter Sam, he saved your life and I am grateful for that. What matters is that I need to find this Doc Oc and get him off the streets,” Tony said. “I will be back, stay in the house, and if you see anything weird call me immediately,” he kissed his daughter on her forehead, and to Sams horror, kissed Pepper. He stepped into the suit and went to find the monster who could have killed his child. “I am gonna head out too kid,” Pepper called out to Sam. Sam didn't even bat an eye at Pepper when she spoke or walked out of the room. Finally alone she called out to FRIDAY, “FRIDAY, what kind of information do you have on Peter Parker?” The A.I answered immediately, “I don't believe Mr. Stark would want me to disclose that information.” Sam smiled “But you do have information on him?” she questioned. “I do have a file but I am not at liberty to share, it is confidential,” the A.I. responded. “Lost to a computer,” Sam mumbled to herself as she walked up to her bedroom. If the robot wasn't going to tell her then she would figure it out on her own. She sat down with her computer, and googled Peter Parker. Nothing spectacular, the boy had won some medals for his science projects, and he was in the paper once for MidTown's decathlon team. Peter seemed to be a very smart, average kid.  Nothing Sam thought to herself, I found nothing. She contemplated calling the sweet blue eyed boy, after all they both owed it to each other to give an explanation of what happened the day before. She was scared of what he might think but she was more scared of losing the boy. She didn’t care how crazy she sounded. Sam knew she had only known him for a handful of days, but the way he looked at her made her feel like she had known him forever. How could anyone argue with that? She decided to call him anyway, “Pick up Peter” Sam mumbled to herself as the ringing of the phone kept her mind going wild. “ Hi Sam!” Peter said intensely as he answered her phone call. “Peter we really need to talk, like really need to talk, I have so much I have to tell you so you can at least understand why I acted so weird yesterday, and I believe you also have A LOT to explain to me,” Sam said it all in one breath due to the pit of anxiety building inside of her. “I just ….” she stuttered. Could she really tell him how she felt if she didn't even understand it herself? “I um..” she tried again but her words wouldn't come out right. “If your gonna confess your foundess for me, it should be in person,” Peter said flirtatious to Sam. “That's the thing Peter I can't see you in person, like ever,” Sam said. She was prepared to explain her life, with her never ending days inside the tower. “I wouldn't be to sure about that,” Peter said back before hanging up the phone. Sam was confused until she heard the hard hits of rocks on her window pane. Slowly making her way across the room to see what awaited her on the other side of the window her stomach was turning. Finally reaching the window she couldn't help but smile at what looked back at her. He somehow crawled up Stark tower and was smiling back at her with rocks in his hand. “That climb was brutal,” Peter said before rolling up his sleeves revealing the web shooters. He then shot webs right into Sams window, slinging himself in. “You are the Spider-Boy from the mall! I knew it!” Sam said almost screaming. She loved when she was right, which was almost always. “And you are Mr. Stark's daughter,” Peter said calmly as he watched Sam's face turn as white as the walls that made up her room. “What gave it away?” Sam asked rolling her eyes. “Maybe the fact that your dad told me to stay away from you after that night at my apartment. You were also really nervous when I recognized your phone. Your face turns a nice shade of red. It's kind of cute actually, but not exactly subtle when trying to hide a secret,” Peter said feeling his face getting warm. “What about you web head? I am not the only one with a secret identity and all.” Sam said to Peter. “Your dad is a great man and mentor, but he has a lot of rules,” he said. Then Peter explained how Tony found a video of Spider-Man on YouTube and showed up at his apartment to offer help. He explained how Tony gave him a suit made by him and how he was constantly updating it to make sure Peter was the best hero he could be. “But no one is to know he says, he doesn't want anyone to know some high school kid from Queens is the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. That's why I was so weird yesterday and the day I met you, and just for the record I love the bushes out front, but my old web shooters must hate topiaries” Sam smiled as she remembered their first meeting. “Sounds like you and I have a lot of the same rules from the old man. Only I have never been allowed to really leave here. No one knows I exist outside of the tower. Well except for you now,” Sam said with sadness in her voice. “Anyway if my dad does all of that for you, you probably should leave and stop talking to me. I wouldn't want to be the reason New York doesn't have some arachnid guy saving them from cyborg octopuses,” Sam said trying to joke through the clear pain in her voice. She didn't want to lose Peter but maybe it was for the best. Peter smiled and joked back to make her feel better, “ First of all its not that hard, my name is Spider-Man, and no way I am losing you now! No matter what anyone says. How about this, we are both good at keeping secrets, what if we just kept us a secret?” Sam stared at Peter as he spoke. He had a point if no one knew, who could it possibly hurt? “Alright Parker, you got yourself a deal. But no more rocks on windows okay, Romeo? Someone's gonna have to clean all that dirt off now,” Sam said smirking. “Fair enough!” Peter said. The two were broken up by what Sam could only assume was her dad returning home and as she watched Peter leave, trying not be caught, she smiled. No one had ever made her feel so unsure and crazy, yet completely blissful, all at the same time. But if it had to be someone she was glad it was Peter.
