"Alright, get up let's run it again," Clint called back to a tired out Sam. "How many more times am I gonna have to get my ass kicked by Nat today?" Sam called back laying on the floor after getting knocked down by Natasha for what seemed like the fiftieth time in five minutes. She heard Steve mumble language, and then Clint went to respond but someone else spoke first. "That's okay Clint, she can be done for the day. Thank you." Tony announced, reentering the room. "How did she do, anyway?" Tony said as Sam escaped to her room. "She's not much of a fighter right now, but she is very observant," Clint stated. "Well thanks for the help anyway, she will get up to speed eventually." Tony said trying to convince himself. "She will be fine Tony, none of us will let anything happen to her," Steve said acknowledging Tony's discomfort. While they talked, Sam was brushing her curly hair out, having just gotten out of the shower. She had put on a pair of black jeans and her Black Parade shirt. Absolutely ready for nothing, she thought to herself. She took a moment to admire the rose Peter had given her the night before. She had placed it in a beautiful tiny vase, perfect for holding just one flower, looking at it made her heart skip. She longed for dinner to be over so she could possibly meet  Peter on the rooftop again. Her phone buzzed. Immediately looking at it she was happy to see that Peter had texted her. "Hey Sammy, I was kinda in the neighborhood wanna go to our spot?" Her heart leapt as she read the text. "Of course :)" Sam texted back immediately, making her way towards the edge of her window. Just a moment later Sam was greeted with Peters arm around her waist, and the wind blowing through her hair. "I thought I told you to only come after dinner, or do you want my dad to punch you into next week?" Sam said settling down on the tower top. "You're like the Rose to my Jack, I can't stay away." Peter said cheesing to Sam. "I don't believe it," Sam said laughing "What?" Peter said concerned that she found his comment too much, or worse and heaven forbid, she didn't get his reference. "You're even more of a dork then I thought you were," Sam said smiling to Peter. "I am truly hurt," Peter said dramatically putting his hands to his chest. "I am sure it's only a flesh wound Parker," Sam said back to Peter. After the two stopped laughing Sam piped up "Hey, aren't you supposed to be at school today? Its Monday." Peter thought about a good excuse to tell her. He had told May he was sick before she left for work so he could meet with Tony. But he couldn't tell Sam that's what he was doing either, Tony did not want her to know about the alarming note left by Doc Oc. "It's a teacher work day, so we're off." That was the best Peter could come up with on the fly. "I wish I had a day off, I mean I still get breaks but when you don't have a teacher you don't have an excuse to have teacher work days," Sam stated slightly jealous of Peter. "Trust me you would hate public school," Peter said straight foreword to Sam. "Oh I don't disagree, it just would be cool to have a group of friends sometimes," Sam said back at Peter. "You don't need a group Sam, you just need one person," Peter said to Sam smiling. Sam looked back at him and smiled. She leaned her head in to his and watched his face turn a light shade of red as he too leaned in closer to Sam. This is really about to happen isn't it? Sam thought to herself as her anxiety rose. She softly closed her eyes watching Peter do the same, she hadn't kissed anyone before, but she felt like Peter would be the perfect first kiss. It would have been too, if it hadn't been for Peters phone going off. Opening his eyes back up and looking straight at Sam, he laughed nervously and said "Might be May let me take this," reaching for his phone and answering it. Sam's mind started to race. She was about to kiss him. She was about to have her first kiss. She could only imagine how red her face was as she thought about what almost happened. Though she did like Peter, she couldn't exactly say she was upset about the kiss not happening. She felt like she needed more time to ensure that Peter was really the one. Though deep down inside she did wish his phone wouldn't have rang. "It's Ned," Peter called back. Sam could tell he was distracted. She heard him say that he would be on his way. "What's wrong?" Sam inquired a slightly whiny tone in her voice. "Doc Oc is at the school! I've got to go now, I'm so sorry." Peter said with a light edge in his voice, worried about the damage to the school, and worse the students. "Let me come with you," Sam spoke without thinking. "No!" Peter said immediately grabbing her waist ready to web sling her back to her bedroom. "And why not? I could help to get people out," Sam said aggravated, back in bedroom. "Sam no, I'm not gonna put you in anywhere near that guy." Peter spoke firmly, thinking back to the handwritten letter Tony had told him about. "Peter I could help," Sam said trying to fight back. Peter didn't respond to her verbally he just looked back at her and smiled. With one quick movement he jumped out of her window, and closed the window. "Seriously!" Peter heard Sam say through the window as he swung away off to go save the kids in the school. Sam threw herself on her bed annoyed with Peter. Though she knew he was right, it would be too dangerous to go. Despite all of that, she still had the urge for a adventure. She wanted to know what it was like for people like her dad and Peter to constantly have something to do, regardless of the danger. Just like that she could hear her father fly away from his lab too. She groaned knowing now all she could do now was watch TV or read. What good was the training her dad wanted her to do if she couldn't potentially use any of it. Sam wasn't angry, she was just frustrated. Longing to be apart of something exciting. She made her way downstairs and turned on the TV. She curled up with her blue blanket on the couch and turned the channel to the local news. Even though she could watch everything go down on the news, she was still unsatisfied. Sam sat in the tower watching the news wishing something exciting would happen to her one day. Little did she know something was coming exciting was coming for her, something sinister in nature
