I am woken up at 4:30 by my mom, telling me that I can't sleep or else I won't want to sleep tonight. I groan and get up from the couch and walk into the pantry and eat whatever I get my hands on.

After I fill myself up, I go to the bathroom and change into my bathing suit and grab my bag for swim, and then my sister, mom and I got into the car and drove my sister, Mercedes, to gymnastics. Since my swimming doesn't start until 6:00 and it's only 5:15 now, my mom lets me stay with her, but drops me off at swimming at 5:40, because she needs to pick up my sister at 6:00.

I get out of the car and walk into the building, scanning myself in. I sit on the floor on my phone until it's 5:55. I quickly take my clothes off, grab my cap and goggles and head over to where you can dry your hair. I look into the mirror and put my hair up, then put my cap on.

All of a sudden, the pain in my back hit and I almost collapsed onto the ground. I take huge breaths trying to keep myself together, and as quickly as I can, I go over to my locker and call my mom.

"Pick up, pick up," I whisper to myself.

After three rings, she finally picks up.

"Yes, Kykuna?" she asks.

"I know you're going to think I'm complaining and trying to get out of swimming, but I'm not," I start. "I don't know why, but my back really hurts. It's been happening all day."

"When you get into the water, it go away. Goodbye."

I stare at my phone with my mouth open.

"Bitch," I whisper to myself.

I take in a deep, shaky breath and put my phone into the locker before walking out of the locker room and onto the pool deck.

I smile a little when I see who is subbing in for our coach.

"Superman!" I exclaim, a smile on my face.

He looks at me and smiles in return.

"Hey kiddo, how's it been?" He asks.

I shrug before deciding I should tell him about the pain in my back.

"My back has been killing me recently so I might stop during practice."

"Alright. Are you okay? You don't have to push yourself you know," he asks concerned.

I don't know Superman that well, but I definitely consider him a friend.

"Yeah I'm fine. Nothing I can't really handle," I respond.

"So you wont stop then?" He says.

I look at him and raise and eyebrow.

"I'm just yanking your chain!" He laughs as I break into a smile. "Seriously though, if you need to stop, do it. Try to get to the other end of the pool if you want to stop though. You can't get run over."

I laugh and nod. "Yes Superman."

We continue talking until everyone shows up.

Once he gets into coach mode, he is still nice, but is definitely more intense.

"Ky, Sara, Mia and Bella! Lane two!" He yells over the noise other swimmers are creating. "Hunter, Isabelle, John and Maeve! Lane one!"

Once we get into our lanes, he tells us what the warm up is.

"Lane two! 100 free! Lane one! Fifty free! Lane two! Leave on the top, 5 seconds between! Lane one! Forget the time, I'll tell you when to go!"

As he was speaking to the people in lane one, I was watching the clock and left when it hit 00.
