Adonis's POV
•••
I think I love her. I know I met her this year, but I think I do. She is such a strong person. I don't know much about her but from the first time I saw her in Heaven, I knew she was someone that was meant to do something.

I look down as her and smile as I kept flying. She is so beautiful. She surpasses the beauty of Aphrodite, and she definitely has an amazing personality. Despite the fact I told her I was sleeping with someone else, she listened to my reasons. Maybe not everything, but I wouldn't have even listened to half of it if the roles were reversed.

Mania really put me in a hole, and I only made it worse in Hell when I said her family wasn't her family. I sigh softly, wanting to go back in time and get my shit together. Just because they're not blood doesn't mean they're not family. She not my blood but I consider her family.

No matter what was thrown at her, her family dying, her finding out she's an Angel, Laviana, Mania, becoming the Queen of Hell, organizing five species for a battle against one of the best Hunter families and fighting in it, and dealing with me and raising her sister and nephew on top of that, I don't know how she hasn't gone crazy yet.

Although I don't know everything about her, I know she's broken. She's broken but she's not hopeless, she's alone, but never lonely. Her eyes reflect so much pain but somehow, they always project courage. She is a beautiful paradox.

Oh, my mate. My soulmate. She's so kind. Even when we were fighting, she made sure she didn't scratch me on the face, but I didn't give a crap and sliced her cheek. I know she doesn't care but the guilt is eating me up inside.

"I'm sorry, Ky," I say quietly and she snaps her head to me. "I've been an awful mate. I gave you a scar, I spoke ill about your family and lied to you."

She laughs quietly before responding. "I don't care about the scar, Adonis, it gives me a cool story to tell. I fought the son of Destruction and walked away with only a scar. The Mania thing was a real dick move, but I understand why and with my family, you weren't yourself, you didn't know you were talking to me. But yeah, you were a complete and utter penis."

I chuckle. A paradox.

Before I can respond, Ky's ears twitch and she tenses. "Adonis, let me go."

I instantly let her go, the seriousness in her voice coming through. I watch as she falls through the sky with a pounding heart, scared she'll get herself killed.

Just as I was going to grab her, she lets her wings out and I sigh in relief. I follow behind her but speed up when I hear a growl and a male scream.

I silently land behind Ky but don't interfere. As I survey the situation, my lip curls in disgust. A Hunter was kicking around a werewolf pup who was no older than about three months. I don't know if Ky knows, but Werewolves give birth in wolf form and then the pups first shift is when they turn one, so they already know how to walk and basic communication skills. I put my attention back on Gabby as she moves in front of the pup, blocking him from the Hunter.

"Back up, baby," she mumbles to the pup and it looks up at her, uncertain. "Go to him, he will protect you, I promise."

Although Ky wasn't looking at the pup, I knew that it trusted her. The pup limps over to me and I furrow my eyebrows at it before crouching.

"Put this ear down if you're a boy," I said pointing to it's left ear, then it's right one, "and put this one down if you're a girl."

Of course, I could always check, but that seems too personal. The wolf flattens it's left ear, letting me know, it, is in fact, a he.

"Are you hurt anywhere?" I ask before wanting to smack myself. Of course he's hurt, he was limping. "Where are you hurt?"

He lifts up his left foreleg and I take a close look at it before picking up the pup and standing up. "It should heal soon. Do your parents have something they call you?"
