“Lacy,” I heard Chris say.
“Hi daddy,” I said happily.
“Where are you?” he asked.
“I’m not falling for that dad,” I chuckled.
“Lacy I’m being serious. Lillian has gone into labour,” my eyes widened.
“What? Is this one hundred percent for real? No gimmicks to find where we are?”
“I swear on my life”
“Are you at the hospital?”
“Yeah. She wants you and Markus here”
“We’ll be there soon. I just have to put some pants on,” I told him.
“Alright. Hurry,” he said then hung up.
“Sam!” I shouted, grabbing a pair of jeans off the floor.
“Yeah?” he asked, appearing at the door.
“I need you to drive Markus and I to the hospital,” I said then threw on my jacket.
“Why?”
“Lillian’s having her baby,” his eyes widened and he rushed down stairs.
“Markus! Katie! Get your coats on we need to go like now!” he shouted.
I slipped on my vans and sprinted down the stairs, “what’s going on?” Katie asked.
“Lillian’s having her baby,” I told them and Markus’ eyes lit up.
“Let’s go,” she shouted.
It took about half an hour to drive to the hospital but when we got there we all sprinted to the reception desk, “where’s Lillian Scott?” Markus asked.
“What my brother means is, can you please tell us where Lillian Scott is?” I asked her.
“You’ll need to wait in the waiting room. Someone will come and fetch you when you can see her and the baby,” she told us.
“And where’s the waiting room?”
“I’ll show you,” she told us flatly.
We followed her for a bit until she pointed to a group of chairs and told us to sit. I made faced behind her back. Man she was crabby. Get laid once in a while…geese.

“What do we do now?” Sam asked.
“Well…I don’t know about you but I’m playing Flappy Bird,” I told him.
“You gave that garbage?”
“It’s now priceless because it’s been deleted. It’s frustrating but addictive”
“Don’t bring it near me. I’ll get addicted but won’t be able to play it”
“People sell destroyed devices that have Flappy Bird installed for thousands of dollars”
“What the fuck?” he asked, furrowing his eyebrows together.
“True story,” I told him.
Time passed.
A lot of time passed before I saw Chris.
“Dad!” I shouted, running up and hugging him.
“Hey baby girl”
“How is she?” Markus asked.
“Which one?”
“Both”
“Amazing,” he said, tears pooling in his eyes.
“Bet you don’t hate me for convincing you now,” I teased.
“You wanna see them?”
“Only if Sam and Katie can come,” I said, looking back at the pair who were standing.
“C’mon,” he smiled and we all followed.
He pushed the door open softly and all I saw was Lillian holding a bundle of pink. I wanted to squeal at the sight but kept myself tamed. I walked over and stood beside her.
“Hey gorgeous,” she cooed quietly.
I kissed her cheek and smiled, “I already want to hold her”
“Sit,” Chris told me.
I gave him an are you fucking shitting me face and he used hard eyes to gesture for me to sit down. I sighed and sat in the chair beside the bed before he handed her to me.
“Hey Jonah,” I cooed softly and pulled the blanket down to get a better look at her.
Blonde tuffs sat against her head, her skin was a kind of peach colour and her eyes were a crystal blue. I looked up at Chris and smiled.
“I want one,” I joked.
“You better not have one for at least five years,” he said sternly.
