The walls of the house were pulsing along to the beat of the music. Just kidding. I only have like nine friends so a massive house party wasn’t really an option. We were sitting in my backyard, all dressed up in our costumes, everyone drinking. I had some music playing through my portable speaker as we sat on the grass. Sam had brought Jessie along, staying by his boyfriend’s side the entire night. Jessie was a bit nervous being surrounded by people he didn’t know but he fit in well with our group. 

Carolyn and Calum had started dating soon after he got back from tour. They were really cute together to be honest. They spent all day taking the piss out of each other but would always end up kissing to show their affection. Francesca and Michael weren’t as far. Michael had told me he was really close to asking her to be his girlfriend but just hadn’t found the guts to. They’d been on a few dates and they acted as if they were together but…weren’t. Jezzy and Michael were as strong as ever really. I found out that she and Francesca actually hadn’t started school over in America and they have moved into an apartment together, which Ash is always at.

Markus had moved schools soon after our talk, Harry always being around. Markus was staying at the Irwin’s that night so he didn’t have to be around us when we were drunk and hung-over the next morning. Jonah had rapidly grown. She was so chubby and her hair was getting to a length where it was starting to curl. Lillian and Chris still complain about having to get up to feed her but it’s less frequent.

Then there was Luke and I. I was enrolled at UWS and was starting the next year. Luke and I were going strong. We were planning on moving in together soon even know Markus was begging me to stay. Luke and I spent most of our time between houses. Dad was unimpressed when I came home with the hicky on my neck but didn’t over-react. We could tell Liz noticed but she didn’t really say anything about it. I think she was just happy her socially awkward, eighteen year old son was in a steady relationship. All us girls were in between our guy’s legs and Sam was squashed to Jessie’s side.

“What did you get for your birthday?” Carolyn asked, a little tipsy.

“Clothes mostly. I also got all the John Green books, a poster that has Support Our Troops and a Storm Trooper on it, a bedroom decorating tip book, a hair braiding handbook and a personalised record to hand on my wall,” I answered.

“Did better than me,” Jezzy laughed.

“Oh yeah?” I asked.

“I got two hundred bucks in a card that said Happy Birthday Jez- Mum and Dad,” she explained.

“Well they’re assholes! That’s why we live together,” Francesca told her.

“My mum doesn’t give a shit. She’s just surprised I’m not pregnant yet,” Carolyn told us.

“Then maybe you and Calum should keep away from each other tonight,” Ashton laughed.

“Hey! Fuck you man,” Calum shouted.

“Fuck you Calum,” we all shouted and burst out laughing.

“I hate that Keek,” he pouted.

“Awe baby,” Carolyn pouted then laughed.

“Sam dude,” Luke started. “Sorry for freaking out a while ago about you and Lacy hanging out”

“It’s all cool. Sorry for using her as an experiment”

“What?”

“He used me when we were broken up last year to see if he was straight. I’m the man turner!” I shouted, throwing my hands in the air as if I was triumphant.
