Episode 4: T e n s i o n

Suga rustled around in his bed, opening his eyes to the still darkness in his room. He had already felt drained and tired after a week of slumber. So, waking up was another painful thing he had to deal with along with the rest of his dreadful and unfortunate existence was honestly not the best feeling to have.

That sluggish feeling lasted only until he sensed the other presence in his room.

"What are you doing here?" He hissed, quickly sitting up and looking at the shadow huddling in the corner.

Leyla stepped out of the shadow, revealing her pale young face held together by powerful magic. "Hello, my son."

Suga grew furious, getting up from his bed too quick. His limbs were still cramped up from his slumber and haven't yet had a chance to recover. "How the hell did you get in here?!" He hissed at her as if the very sight of his own mother was like poison to his eyes.

"Easy there. You've been asleep for a while now boy." She chuckled. "I've been besides you for a long time. I almost forgot how cute your pale little face looked while it squirmed from the nightmares."

"Get the hell out!"

"Well, is that any way to welcome your mother, son?" She frowned.

"You're not supposed to be here."

"I have my ways around town dearie, don't worry about me. But enough of this mother-son small talk. What do we say, shall we discuss the real reason I came?"

Suga stood still, placing his guards up as he looked back at his mother's sly and plotting expression. Everything was a bad sign. From the arch of her brows to the curve of her lips.

"I wasn't worried about you. I couldn't care less. So, what makes you think I want to have anything to do with you? Much more, hearing you blabber poison first thing when I wake? After all, you left me alone as a child, burning to death, didn't you? So why would you want anything to do with me now after all these years."

"You exaggerate, boy!" She bursted into dramatic laugher. "It was your own flames that caused that deadly fire. Sure it might burn you too, but you heal from it in the end, don't you! And besides, if I were to have doted on you as a small child, would you even be as strong as I have made you now?"

"You left me alone to suffer! To get stoned by the villagers every day! I had to endure the pain of feeling my skin bruise, welt and boil when I couldn't control my powers!" He blindly spilled out too much while he yelled at her. After all these years, these were the words that were bottled up inside of him without anyone to spill themselves on. "Do you understand what I had to go through because of you?"

"Well...you did deserve it." She smirked. Suga's eyes flipped to black as he slowly seeped out with a matching black flame. "Easy there, you don't want to burn us all down now. I only did what I had to do to save you! If I had taken you with me you wouldn't have gotten to where you are now! You'd have been kicked out with your poor, weak mother and--"

"Like I'd believe any of that bullshit! You ran away to save yourself. You were lucky Satan threw you out of hell, you nasty woman! He should've torn you to pieces and fed you to the hounds while he was at it!"

"Silence you fool." She lifted her brow and frowned at him. "You don't know what I went through. Do not even speak another word. All you've ever suffered was a bunch of mean looks and scowls here and there from your brothers. You expect me to feel sad over that? Well boohoo, grow up would you!"
