Episode 27: A  M o t h e r 's  C r e e d

"He's a monster," Sera told Jin in a low tone.

"You're a monster too," Jin replied back, with a slight frown. "You hurt him badly Sera. That wasn't nice."

"I know, but he's scarier," Sera explained. "He had weird eyes. And he can make his wounds vanish just by touching them."

"You're not answering my question, Sera. Stop avoiding it." Jin took a more firm tone with the younger girl before breaking character and sighing into his hands. "Hey, angel, if you're in there right now can you hurry up and come out. I don't think I can figure this out on my own."

He looked back up into Sera's glaring eyes.

"There's someone inside of me, isn't there." The girl surprised him.

"What?" Jin furrowed his brows.

"I'm not stupid." Sera bit her trembling lip and furrowed her brows with anger. She didn't normally get involved in the affairs that happened at the mansion. But as she was growing, the number of questions she had grew with her too. "I don't remember somethings. And I can tell because they're in pieces. My memories. Sometimes I would experience things in the morning, and then when I blink it'll be night time. What's happening to me!" She demanded.

Jin sat on the edge of his bed, crossing his arms over his chest as he studied the stubborn girl's face.

"You've been possessed by an angel." He blurted out without beating around the bush.

Sera's eyes grew larger than saucers. "Oh."

"Oh? That's all you want to say?"

"I knew that. I knew someone was taking over my body when I was asleep. But I didn't know it was an angel..." she blinked her surprise away. "Like...a pretty angel? With wings?" She beamed brightly.

"Hella pretty." Jin leaned in with a smirk. "I haven't seen her wings yet. But I bet you she's even sexier with them."

Sera made a disgusted face at him, backing away.

"What? Don't tell me you're still in that I-hate-love phase?! What are you, a kid?"

"Uh, yes." Sera reminded him. "I'm only 10."

"Ten? Well shit." Jin scoffed. But within the next blink, Sera dropped to the ground and a white glow formulated next to her.

"Are you fucking serious?" The angel of War, Sera glared down at him. "What the hell are you teaching this kid Jin?!"

"Her innocence is only bound to last her a few years before it's taken away." Jin shrugged. "But your timing couldn't have been any better! Care to explain what's happening inside the body of your host, gorgeous?"

"First of all, refer to me as sexy one more time and see what I'll do. Second of all, I still can't believe how clueless you all are."

"What?" Jin cocked his head at her, turning more serious.

"It's like you haven't even tried to think about why her powers chose to act up now."

"No, to be honest, I have considered some options. But using our minds was a job kind of reserve to one of our brothers who currently isn't here right now and is rebelling with our other brother. Just a recap in case you weren't aware. Of course, I tried using my brain! But I had other things to worry about too."

"Aiko," Sera uttered his name. "He's a direct siphon to her supernatural senses. This girl was already able to see things that humans who pass the age of seven should stop seeing. But that wasn't the case for her. She felt like an enigma ever since Hanul had brought her in and no one had really taken the time to consider that she might be more than a human with just a good grasp on her supernatural senses."
