Episode 37: S i x
Two hooded individuals stood ahead, starting at the cage before slowly walking over.
"So, this is it?" The first one took off her hood.
"Oh, the surprise visits really don't cease today." Satan's voice caught their attention. "Dalia."
Her red lips formed a smile, taking off her cape as she walked close to Satan's cage. "Hello, love. Glad to see you doing well. I hope you weren't having too much fun without me!"
"You sick bitch." Satan scoffed, taken over by a wave of laughter. "What, did you come to check up on how the other half of your beloved is doing?"
"Dalia?" Jimin shuffled in the darkness. As soon as she noticed his presence, a chill rained down over her. The amount of suffering he had endured down here was evident enough, even to her. That same insanity, it reeked out of him just as it had with her when she escaped out of Limbo.
"Hurry up, the environment here isn't really good for my skin." She looked away quickly, nudging Namjoon who took off his hood.
"Oh?" Satan carefully eyed them. "Another one of my sons. You all really miss your father that much?"
Silently, Namjoon made way to the cage, observing the engraved insignias on the bar. It was definitely a secret and ancient spell that was tough to crack--no witch or warlock of this time would be able to break it. However, he knew of only one woman who could. And that was Leyla. But since she wasn't here any longer, and she was the one with the Book of the Damned, he couldn't rely on that. What he could rely on, was his photographic memory.
Before Jimin had handed the spellbook to Leyla, which included the chant that would free Satan out of his cage, Jimin had always made sure Namjoon read every single scripture in possession. He was capable of storing information like an endless library. Because of this, he was able to recall the book and its contents.
"I need you to close your ears." Namjoon looked back at Dalia.
"What?" She scoffed, rolling her eyes at his ridiculous demand.
"Close your ears our the deal is off." Namjoon insisted. "I only brought you here so that you'd be reassured that I would keep Jimin's soul until the exchange was over. If you don't comply I have no reason to do anything."
Dalia narrowed her eyes and angrily snapped her fingers. Her ears had disappeared reassuring Namjoon that she wouldn't be able to hear the spell. It was no use if Satan heard it since he was banned from uttering it or inscribing it in any way. The moment he would, the cage would permanently be locked forever. No spell would be able to break it open then.
"Sanguine de seis fruges. Septum menses in fletu. Peccata aeterna Santorum. Dimittere portas tuas."
The engraved symbols slowly began to glow with white light as the bars dissolved. The chains around Jimin and Satan started to break down first, then the firey lava floor cooled down as if it were dried up cement. Once the chains completely broke off and the bars temporarily melted, before any of them could react, Satan had already escaped the cage.
"Brother..." Jimin stumbled out of the cage.
"You don't look so well." Namjoon frowned, before uncorking a glass bottle. "I'm afraid I'll have to keep you sealed again. Just for a short time."
"What!" Jimin's eyes widened. But before he could resist, Namjoon chanted another spell and Jimin's body turned into red smoke, seeping into the glass bottle. Finally re-corking it, Namjoon waved it over at Dalia. "There's our end of the bargain. Make sure to keep yours."
