Episode 15: B l a c k - e y e d M i r r o r

Present-day (7th month)

"Another club was fatally left in cold blood. This morning we report live on the scene that the Heart Killer has stricken again. If you--"

"Brother," V stood in front of a concentrating Jimin with the TV remote.

"Turn it back on." Jimin pursed his lips.

"Brother, that's enough. It's about time we talked now."

"Turn it on!" Jimin continued to protest, crossing his arms over his chest. V furrowed his brows, still not used to his brother's new persona. It's been only two months since he had found him, but all of what Hanul said was true. There was nothing in his memories of the past. When V had done a read on them, it was blank. Some parts pitted out like a hole in a road. He just couldn't see beyond that.

"Brother!"

"Stop it!" Jimin stood up, curling his hands into fists. "I don't know why you keep calling me that. I'm...I'm not your brother!" He lashed out, scowling at the word at he glared back at V's surprised expression.

"Yes, you are." V relentlessly continued to convince him.

"I'm not! I wouldn't be such a mean person's brother!" Jimin stomped his foot and looked around. "Where is she? Where is Hanul!"

"That's none of your business." V looked away.

"You..." Jimin ran up to him and grabbed his collar. "What did you do to her?"

For a brief second, V's eyes widened with terror. He saw his father's eyes resonating inside of Jimin's, but that was completely impossible. "Why do you care?"

"Because she has a baby!" Jimin nagged at him, looking back at V as if he was insane. "She needs to take care of herself and she hasn't been doing that because of you. You're the one who keeps bothering her!" V glanced down at his brother's angry face and cracked a small smile.

"This doesn't suit you one bit, you know. Seems like you still can't let go of that foolish act you put on. Tricking people into thinking you care."

"I do care." Jimin grit his teeth. "I do! I care about her and the baby."

"Grow up, brother." V's lips tightened as he roughly held Jimin by the collar instead, practically lifting him off his feet. Jimin flinched in fear, letting go and tried to pry off V's wrists off him. "You're acting like how you were before that incident happened. All innocent and pure!" V yelled at him. "Don't you dare forget it. Don't you forget the first time you've done it."

"Stop it!" Jimin shut his eyes tight.

"Don't you dare forget what you and Lust did to me!" V roughly shook him.

"Stop it already!" Jimin covered his ears and screamed, bursting into red flame. V quickly dropped him, watching as he sobbed and cowered down to the ground. Jimin slowly opened his eyes, glaring up at V.

"Why are you doing this?" He mumbled up to him. "Why are you being so mean to me?"

"Mean?" V scoffed, his face scrunching up with hurt and disappointment. "Do you have any idea what you did? You...how could you just die and come back like this? If you were going to come back, then you should have returned properly!" Jimin stared up at him with confusion and an unusual sense of guilt. "You should have never taken that blow for me. It was meant for me, and yet you went and took it instead. Until the very last moment, you...you just always had to be the one that acted as the victim!"
