Episode 51: M o d e r n  A l l i a n c e

Immediately, the vampires stepped back from the feisty flames, fearing their one weakness.

"He's lost control, we have to do something!" Natella gasped, taking a hesitant step forward before Damien grabbed her back.

"Are you insane?! The moment you step near him you'll be ashes!"

"The whole mansion will catch on fire before then!" She argued back. "Everyone is going to die!" Damien glared back at the flames, conflicted.

"Great, just when the prophecy finally started to make sense." He uttered. "Just how did we let this mess get so out of hand!"

"We need to stop him. We have to make sure of it! Otherwise, this will all be for nothing!" Natella urged him.

"Sera!" Jin painfully screamed at the dumbfounded girl, grabbing tightly onto his arm while she looked at Aiko with fear. "Sera, for hell's sake! Snap out of it! Now is not the time!" She blinked a few times, trying to get herself to look away. But every time she thought of it, her body would freeze up again.

Jin was practically ready to collapse from the poison. He caught himself before he fell to the ground. "Sera, you're the only one here who can stop him. Please!"

"I'm terrified." She whispered, her lower lip trembling while her eyes glued onto Aiko's raging and distressed face. His eyes were completely iridescent and his body trembled with enough anger to scare even someone who was confident in their powers.

"Terrified of what?" Jin hissed, trying to not work himself out faster and keeping calm. "Sera, listen to me. He's still Aiko. That same silly, awkward kid who messes up at almost anything that anyone normal can do. You have no reason to be afraid of him! He's angry for you, so you deal with it! You have to lock his powers into the amulet, but you also need to make sure that the blast I trapped inside earlier is pointed away from you. Once the new energy is absorbed, you need to close it as fast as you can!"

The girl's face crumpled up, close to tears while she shook her head. "Sera!" Jin fell down to his knees coughing. She jumped up in surprise, finally shutting her eyes tightly to stop staring. "Can you do that? You're the only one!" Jin begged.

"I-I'll try." She let go of his arm and slowly stood up.

"Sera, you're strong." Jin encouraged her. "You're the strongest human girl I've ever met. You can do this. Don't forget who you are. You're a badass punk who never listens to her parent. I didn't raise a weakling." Sera bit down on her lip and glanced back at Jin emotionally. "Go on, do it."

Mustering up her confidence and strength, Sera lightly coated herself with Magik and charged at Aiko.

Unaware of himself, the boy twisted his head at her unfamiliarity. "Aiko! Enough! You have to control your powers, you stupid loser!" She yelled at him between tears, trying to find a way to safely do as Jin instructed. Her body was still shaking from all the trauma that resurfaced, and now she was tasked with an almost impossible duty.

The boy growled at her, taking a step forward that resulted in her taking two steps back. "Aiko, you stupid idiot!" She cried out angrily, stubbornly walking towards him again. "You promised you'd protect me! You promised me, but right now you're trying to hurt everyone!" She spilled out her true feelings. "You fool!!" She sobbed as he froze up. "You told me you didn't want to see me cry again! You told me that you'll get stronger and control your powers for my sake!" She finally got close enough. "Were you just lying to me?!"

Quickly, her hands reached out at the dangling amulet and aimed it up to the high ceiling. Aiko panicked with confusion, but before she could give him a chance she opened it up. Immediately her hands ricochetted back from the necklace as a huge amount of energy blasted up and pierced through the ceiling. Aiko watched in confusion before his body tensed up. The energy was slowly draining back into the amulet. Dreadfully, Sera realized what he was trying to do. He was going to close it before it all got drained.
