Episode 2: D a r k n e s s

I sat down on the dining table, tossing the rice around with my chopsticks as I kept my gaze glued onto the plate.

It all really felt different now. There's been a distant and hostile mood growing amongst the brothers, and I could only guess what was causing this all.

But what I couldn't quite figure out yet was why Namjoon was starting to change too.

"You should eat, if you want to be strong and healthy," Jin whispered to me, and grinned, gulping his vitamins down. I glanced at Sera, still not registering the fact that the girl was being possessed by a guardian angel this whole time. Then my eyes looked back at the painfully empty spot at the dinner table. After that day, no one dared to even utter even the first letter "J" around V.

So many things happened after defeating Satan that we didn't have time to understand the things happening to us now. We were just taking time to settle down, but there was this eerie feeling growing behind my back that made me wonder if things would settle down well.

"Where's J-hope?" V spoke up to his brothers, bringing his absence into formal attention.

"Ever since we all ran to help you defeat Father, we haven't seen or heard of him, my lord," Namjoon answered him. The table grew heavy with discomfort. Even V glanced at Namjoon with a surprising look at the title he labeled him with.

"I'm not your lord, yet. Not until I sit on the throne. So find a way to get me there. Quickly. " V cleared his throat uncomfortably, but that icy tone of his didn't waver. He wasn't telling us not to address him properly—no. He was telling us that he'll stop at nothing to get to that throne in hell.

"I understand." Namjoon nodded. "I will do anything I can to help you get there. We will go back to Abaddon." He glanced up at me before he bowed his head to V and looked down at his own goblet with respect and fervor in that unsettling gaze.

"If we do not hear from J-hope in the next two days, I'll--"

"He's probably off doing something silly." Jin quickly cut him off, sitting up straight like a ruler. "I'm sure of it. I can feel him." V stared at Jin in silence. I saw the brother nervously twirl the goblet around in his hand, staring at the sloshing absinthe. "Forgive me, for cutting you off. I only meant to report what I felt to you."

"If he's not back, then he's declared a traitor." V ignored him and continued what he was going to say, daring Jin to cut him off again with his cold gaze. Jin's eyes flashed pink as he looked up at him, but he forced his lips shut—and tightly. I could see his teeth clench down visibly to prevent himself from answering back to him.

But, seriously, what was V suppose to gain when he just made everyone his enemy with that stubborn mind of his?! How could he just declare J-hope a traitor without even attempting to find out what happened?

"We understand." Namjoon and Jungkook replied like V's orders were now set in unbreakable stone.

Wasn't anyone going to speak up against him?

"Is Suga still asleep?" He continued.

"Yes."

"Report to me as soon as he wakes up. I have many questions to ask him." V folded his hands together and looked straight at me. I rolled my eyes and stared back down at my full plate, watching Sera innocently separate her peas from the fried rice.

If I sat here in this heavy atmosphere any longer, I think I'd just end up throwing up on an empty stomach.

"Thanks for the meal." I stood up. The brother's stared at me with surprise and unease. They all looked at V quickly, waiting for his reaction. These days, we've been the hot topic: "A mad King and his lover—who's going to pop out a weird ass child."
