I entered the room and I couldn't help but marvel at the sight. Who could have thought this old looking house could be this beautiful on the inside. It was painted pink and paintings of some Disney princesses like Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Bella, were also used to decorate the walls. The bed spread and everything else in the room were pink and has touches of white and some had pictures of some of these princesses on them.

"Mum knew how much I love Disney princesses so she created a whole world for me." She said breaking into my thoughts. I smiled at her and walked in. She was gonna miss her mum, that's for sure.

"Why did she ever leave?" She asked.

"She didn't have a choice. If she had, she would have chosen to be with you." I replied.

"But she could have fought for her life. She could have stayed strong...for me at least."

"I'm sure she tried. I'm sure she tried to fight for her life. I'm sure she tried to be strong but sometimes, some things don't happen the way we want them to. That's life." I said trying hard to control myself from crying. I had to stay strong. I hadn't cried over my dad for six years now and if I ever wanted to, I would quickly dab my eyes.

"Why's life so unfair?" The girl asked. The same question I had asked my mum when my dad passed away.

"It... It just happens to be so. But you have to be strong to fight through." I said.

She looked at me and smiled. "I should get packing." She said and hurriedly put some random dresses in a big bag. I could tell she was trying to be strong.

Just when we got back to the parlor, there was an explosion. I bent over to cover Amelia and guide her out.

"Holy shit!" I heard Hayden curse. The house was already on fire. Most of our evidences would be destroyed. That was the purpose of the explosion and maybe kill us too.

"Come Amelia!" I shouted and carried the girl up and ran out of the house. Hayden ran behind us. We were luckily out of the house before it blew up.

"Mom!" Amelia cried as she watched the house burn into ashes with her mother's body in it.

I carried her safely to the bike and made her sit on it first. Hayden was staring at me strangely.

"Where we going?" She asked.

"To our hotel room." I replied and she nodded. We drove off.

Amelia was already asleep on the bike when we got to the hotel so I carried her into my room and laid her on my bed, tucking her in properly. I was gonna have a shower but I had to quench my thirst first. I went to the parlor and grabbed a cup from a table. I met Hayden at the dispenser and he gave me the strange look again.

"What? Why are you giving me that eyes?" I asked.

"Because it was all your fault that house blew up and almost turned us into fucking roasted chicken...or humans." He replied.

"How's it my fault? Did I know some crazy people were outside trying to get us killed?" I asked.

"If you hadn't tried to comfort her in her house then that wouldn't have happened."

"So like it's my fault for trying to comfort a ten years old over the loss of her mother while you stood there like a robot feeling nothing for her at all." I said getting pissed.

"Why are women to fucking emotional? And if you wanted to comfort her then you could have found somewhere safer like in here."

"I didn't even know they were outside!" I shouted getting paranoid.

"But I did. I saw them. And I tried to tell you to stop your comforting but you just felt like showing off as if you were the only person that cared on planet earth."

"You...you knew?" I shuttered.

"Yeah. I did." He said and walked away.

I stood there, dumbfounded. I was so emotional, I forgot I was on duty. Gosh! That must never happen again. I dropped the cup, suddenly getting full after Hayden's talk and went to rest.

I woke up to see two small hands wrapped around my stomach. I turned around to see who it was and sighed when I saw it was Amelia. I totally forgot.

I gently unwrapped her hands and went to the bathroom. After a quick shower, I wore a white, strapless and simple long gown and tied my hair in a messy bun.

I left the room and went to get water. As I drank it, Hayden walked into the room half naked with only a towel around his waist.

Lord! Save my poor eyes.

I tried to look away like every other decent women would but I couldn't.

His perfectly defined eight packs, his abs, his well built muscles...oh lord! I'm gonna faint! His hair was also damp and rough, making him look striking hot and sexy. This sexy idiot.

"Take a photo. It would last longer." He said and I snapped out of my stupidly awkward thoughts. Then realizing what he said, a wave of heat ran up to my cheeks. He had caught me checking him out.

Wow Camilla, isn't that not a good way to start a new day? my brain mocked. I felt so embarrassed. I dropped the cup of water and left but I knew I heard him laugh before I locked my door.

"Amelia." I called. She was awake already and looked really terrified. She ran to me immediately.

"Where am I?" She asked, holding my legs.

"No need to be scared okay? This is my hotel room. You fell asleep on the bike last night." I explained.

"I did?"

"Yeah."

Later on, she went to take her bath and got dressed.

"What do you want for breakfast?" I asked her.

"Anything." She replied but I knew she was just shy.

"What's your favorite?" I asked.

"Waffles, bacon and cheese." She replied excitedly.

"Uhm... Looks like we're having Waffles, bacon and cheese for breakfast today." I said and went to the intercom to contact the hotel room service.
