"Where did he go?!" Amelia and I asked each other simultaneously. We stood up from the table and walked over to the counter.
"I wanna pay for table 16." I told the cashier that attended to us. She looked at her laptop before looking back at us.
"Someone already paid ma'am." She said with a smile.
"Wait-what?! How did he- when did he pay?" I asked.
"Like a minute or two ago." She replied.
I sent her a small smile before pulling Amelia out of the restaurant.
"You know, I'm really confused tight now. Where did he disappear to?" Amelia asked. She looked puzzled.
"I don't know Any but I know something's up. I have this strange feeling Stuart isn't who he seems he is." I replied.
We walked into our hotel room and saw Hayden laying on one of the couches and pressing his laptop.
"You guys are back." He stated.
"Yeah." Amelia replied.
"Obviously." I muttered.
"What's up with you?" He asked me, sitting up on the couch.
"Nothing. I'll be in my room." I replied and went into my room. I walked over to my window and looked outside thinking about what Stuart did and why I was having this feeling. While looking outside, someone caught my eyes.
"Stuart..." I whispered and grabbed my binoculars quickly. I zoomed it in on him and watched his every moves. He checked his wristwatch before looking up again. Someone walked over to him and the person was dressed in all black and even his face was covered. They were conversing.
"Camy?" I flinched when I heard my name.
"Hayden! Why on earth did you sneak up on me like that and how did you come in?" I asked.
He held up a card and I got the answer to my second question. "The MasterCard." He stated and I rolled my eyes.
"Why are you here?" I repeated my earlier question.
"To talk to you."
"Well, I don't wanna talk."
"You have to."
"It's not a must."
"Guess what, it is."
"Just get out of my room."
"You're sending a perfectly handsome guy like me out?"
I laughed drily. "Perfectly handsome? I don't see it." I lied. Yeah! I lied! I mean I completely see it. He's perfect and handsome.
He gasped dramatically. "You know, if there was an award for breaking hearts, you'd surely win." He said.
"And if there was an award for bring so egotistical, you'd be the winner."
"Oh please! It's not as if everything I'm proud of isn't true." He replied.
I rolled my eyes at him again. "Get out!" I shouted and looked outside the window again but Stuart had left already. "You've got to be kidding me?!" I exclaimed and turned around to glare at confused Hayden.
"What's wrong?" He asked, confusion written all over his stupid face.
"You just ruined everything! How am I supposed to know where he disappeared to now?" I shouted.
"Who?"
"Stuart, you fool! I'm looking for Stuart!"
"Wait, you were spying on him?"
"Yeah! Got a problem with that?"
"But why?"
"Guess what, that's none of your business! Dickhead."
He just stared at me with a different expression I've never seen him wear. Fuck him!
I walked out of the room and started pacing about the parlour. Who was that and why would anyone try to disguise himself? Something's recently not right.
"Here you go Hayden." Amelia's voice rang through the room and I turned around to see her handing the diamond over to Hayden.
"You knew about the diamond since?" Hayden asked me and I stared at him. "Why didn't you tell me anything?"
"It... It slipped my mind." I replied and looked away.
"How could it have slipped your mind? We are partners aren't we? You should have told me the moment you found out."
"I just told you what happened besides you already found it."
"It's because of Stuart right?" He asked. My head snapped in his direction.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"All this... The way you reply me and how you forget important things is all because of Stuart."
"What..."
"I need this promotion if you don't and I can't afford to fail a mission so please, keep your feelings aside."
"Feelings?"
"Excuse me." He said and entered his room with the diamond.
"What the hell just happened?" I asked myself.
"He thinks you have feelings for Stuart since he doesn't know the exact reason why you changed." Amelia replied.
"I've changed?"
"Well..." She strained the "well" and I glared at her. "Okay! Yes, you've changed. You don't talk like before and you're not as jovial. All you do is sit around and think or hang out with Stuart." She said.
I slumped on the couch and brushed my hair backward. "I guess I've been a little off." She gave me a "really?" look. "I've been a lot off! There." She nodded with a smile. "But I'll make things right." I added with a smile.
"Go make everything right." She said pointing at Hayden's room. I nodded and walked towards it. I was about to knock but then I realized that would be too formal and I'm not formal so I barged in.
"Jesus! Can't you knock?!" Hayden shouted. He was shirtless with only his trousers on.
I laughed. "I don't knock." I said and sat on his bed.
"Why are you hear anyway?" He asked.
"Looks like you're not happy to see me."
"Not quite."
"I came to disturb you and damn! I came at the right time." I said and winked at him flirtatiously.
He had a confused look before looking down and realizing he was shirtless. "I see. You wanna flirt ay?" He asked, grinning from ear to ear as he moved closer to me. He places both hands on the bed, capturing me in between them. Our close proximity made me swallow. I licked my lips and his eyes landed on them.
You shouldn't have done that! My brain snapped.
That was something you should have said earlier! I retorted.
Gosh! I was being stupid. I was talking to my brain when a guy is standing just 3 inches away from me and his eyes dancing from my eyes to my lips. He moved closer and I didn't move.
Kiss!!! My heart nearly exploded.
Did they kiss? 🤔🤔
Let's see in the next chapter.
Love ya!
