...When life deals us card
Make everything taste like it is salt
Then you come through like the sweetener you are
To bring the bitter taste to an haltSo was what happened when I saw my Hayden again. There I was, in his arms, staring into his beautiful green eyes, the eyes I've missed so much and one hand on his chest, I noticed his heart racing. Fire burnt in his eyes. His hair danced around due to the air and I felt his breathe on my face. His lips parted slightly and so did mine. It was like he controlled my every movement. I wanted him. I needed him. And no matter how hard I tried to hide it, I loved him.
A little flashback before we met...
“Good morning,” Xena greeted, drying her hair with a towel. There was another wrapped around her chest. She turned and some water from her damp hair splashed on my face.“Isn't that a good way to start the morning?” I said sarcastically.
She laughed. “Let it go babe. It's just water,” She said.
“Yeah right.” I stood up and went to the bathroom. “I wanna go take my bath now.”
“Just hurry up in there. Mum and dad must be waiting for us,” She said. She was searching her wardrobe for a cloth to wear.
“I will.” I said and disappeared behind the door.
Few minutes later and I was done dressing up while Xena was perfecting her brow. I decided to let my hair go, getting a special feeling today. I guess it was just because of the safe uncle gave me and the fact that it might help the case.
“Whoa! Your sari is nice,” She commented.
“Thanks,” I smiled. “I bought it they second day I arrived in India. I just felt I should wear the traditional cloth today.”
“That's nice. Maybe I should go wear one of mine too,” She said.
“Red?”
“Red.”
She smiled and took off her gown. Now left in just her underwear, she rummaged through her closet until she found a red sari. She wore it and I helped in wrapping it around her waist.
“You look beautiful, Xena.” I said.
“Thanks,” She replied. “Let's take a selfie?”
“Sure.” We took out our phones and snapped at the same time. Then, we used it as our wallpaper and laughed.
“You'll meet Ravi today,” She said.
“Who's that?” I asked, wearing my shoe.
“My boyfriend,” She said. My eyes shot up in surprise.
“You're dating an Indian guy?” I asked, still shocked.
“Shusssh!” She placed a finger on her lips. “I don't want dad's lecture on the fact that I have to marry an American,” she said.
“But... How... Why... Explain yourself!” It felt like I was about to explode.
Merely thinking about him made her face turned crimson and she kept blushing continuously. “I met him at college. He's intelligent and handsome and everything I ever want in my man. We met when it was raining on day. A sign that we are made for each other. A match made in heaven,” she said. All the while she spoke about how loving and caring her man was, my mind kept wandering off to Hayden. “...he's perfect for me. Listen, I'm in love with him and so, you just have to meet him. And then you'll help me convince dad to accept him too.”
