"Hayden... Oh my Gosh!" Amelia quickly backed us. I pushed Hayden backwards and he quickly grabbed his shirt from the couch and wore it.
"What- why are you here Amy?" Hayden asked her.
"I- I came to see you." She replied still backing us.
"You can turn around Amy." Hayden said.
"You sure?" She asked.
"Yes dear." He replied and walked to her before slowly turning her around. "See? I have my shirt on." He said and spread his arms out. Amelia looked at me but I quickly looked down in embarrassment.
"Okay what was going on?" She asked us teasingly.
"Nothing." Hayden replied and looked at me.
"Really? You were shirtless and it looked like the both of you were about to..." She trailed off knowing we got the message.
Hayden sighed and looked at me before smiling back at her. "I was just teasing her Amy. I swear it. Nothing would have happened, right Camy?" he replied.
I felt a surge of heat rush to my cheeks and I buried my head in my hands in embarrassment. Jesus! What have I done?
I raised it back up and nodded before getting up from his bed. "Nothing would have happened." I repeated his earlier statement and walked out of the room.
I sat on my bed remembering how close we were. My heart began to race again and I blushed. What's wrong with me?! He's not even here! Not that I want to see the annoying idiot though.
I started humming New Rules by Dua Lipa when an idea came to mind. If I really want to catch Stuart, I need to check his luggage and that can only be found in his room. So, I'm going to pay a little visit to his room. Number...
You don't even know the room number!
Dammit!
Amelia walked in, smiling mischievously. I knew she was here to taunt me.
"So... You and Hayden..." She started. See?
"Don't even think about it. There's nothing going on and nothing ever would." ] said, cutting her short. I really wasn't interested in talking about what happened in there.
"Hey! Hayden already told me that. Cool down sis." She sat on the bed and I stared at her.
"I- I am going somewhere." I said.
"It's late Camy." She replied worriedly.
"I just really want to finish this entire case and forget I ever met Hayden." I replied grabbing a pair of black jeans from my wardrobe.
"I understand but... Okay then." She said. "I'll cover up for you."
"Thanks Sweetie." I kissed her forehead and ran to the bathroom to change. I came out dressed in black sweatpants and black sweater with black vans. I tied my hair up in a high ponytail and wore black gloves just to cover up any fingerprints.
"Spy uhm?" Amelia asked.
"Yup." I replied with a wink.
"Do you know his room number?" She asked.
"I don't but I'll ask d clerk." I said.
She nodded. "Alright. Hurry now." She said and literally pushed me out. I looked around to see if Hayden was out but when the parlor was deserted, I went towards the door. I opened it gently to avoid the noise and tiptoed out of the room.
I closed the door and ran downstairs. I'd find out if Stuart is in any kind of trouble or if he's working for the enemy like my heart says. I still don't get why we aren't progressing in the mission and we are still stuck in a place. I guess not all the information er needed about this case were provided.
"Evening miss..." I looked at the clerk's name tag and smiled. "Miss Anita."
"Evening madam. How may I help you?" She asked.
"I- I need the room number of someone." I said.
"I'm sorry ma'am but I can't share that information with you. However, I can contact him for you." she replied.
"You don't have to contact him. It's just really urgent. I've been trying to reach him but he isn't answering my calls. If he hears I'm here, he might not let me in." I replied. She stared at me for a while before nodding her head.
"What's his name?" She asked.
"Stuart." I replied. She looked down at the monitor in front of her and pressed some keys on the keyboard.
"Er... Ma'am, there's no one by the name here." She said.
"What??" I asked really confused. "Check again. The name is Stuart. As in S-t-u-a-r-t." I said, spelling the name also.
"I know ma'am and there's no one by that name here." She said again.
"But..." Could it be that Stuart isn't his real name and he lied to me? Or did he lie to the hotel? Either ways, he lied and I need to find out why. "Th- thanks Anita." I said and turned away.
A man dressed in all white passed my front with a white face cap on his head and a white hankie tied over his nose. Now that's something suspicious. When we made eye contact, his emerald green eyes shone and he ran off instantly. Weird.
I sighed frustratedly and walk about the hotel aimlessly. I still haven't been able to figure out Stuart's room number...thats if his name is really Stuart... and the man that was dressed in black too and here's another man dressed in white running from me as well.
Wait! Those eyes... Stuart!
I looked around for him and started running towards the stairs. The passage was a little too crowded so I couldn't see where I'm going to.
"Stuart!" I called among the crowd hoping he'd here and probably wait to look for who called his name. "Stuart!" I called again. I finally go out of the crowd and guess where I ended... The restaurant.
"How the hell did I get here!" I screamed and everyone looked at me. I regretted it that instant. I have everyone an apologetic look before heading out of the restaurant. Now how do I find Stuart?
