Tears spilled from my eyes and I quickly backed him and wiped it away. When I turned back around, he was holding up a necklace box and in it was a lovely diamond necklace.

“Who's that for? Your girlfriend?” I moved away and went in front of my vanity.

“If she wants to be,” he said.

I pulled my head up in a bun and tied it up with my hair bond. He walked up to me.

“I know it would fit her quite well,” He said. I turned around.

“That's good for you. I need a...” I groaned and he held me. He led me to the bed and tried to pull my shirt up. “What are you doing?”

“You were unconscious for three days and I didn't overstep my boundaries. I just want to check your wound,” he said.

“You don't have to. I can take care of myself,” I said.

“Of course you can. I'm not arguing on that but let me take care of you now,” He said. I tried to fight back but he left both of my hands up. “Don't even try to fight back. Let me do what I have to.” He dropped my hands and pulled up my chest.

“It has started bleeding again. You've gone through too much stress because of me,” he said. “Come on, lay down and let me change the bandage.”

“I brought you here to take care of you and that won't change. Plus, it's just a minor injury. I can take care of myself. Please, go freshen up and sleep.”

“Do you really think I can sleep while you're in so much pain?” He asked.

“Why? What am I to you uh? You pretend like you wanted to kiss my earlier only to push me away and now you're pretending to care? At least there's one person in this room who isn't pretending to care about the other. Will you just go to bed and leave me the fuck alone?!” I pushed him to the bed and went to the bathroom to dress my wound up.

When I came back outside, he was already on the bed, asleep maybe? I bit back my tears and turned to the safe. Like I cracked that code when I was angry with him, I'll use my anger to open this safe and find out what's going on.

I sat on the office chair and faced the safe that was on the table.

The knock on the door woke me up and I slowly opened my eyes. I had slept off while trying to open the safe by inserting random numbers.

“Good morning,” Hayden greeted. I stood up from the chair and stretched.

“Morning,” I replied without any emotions attached. I walked to the door.

“Did someone wake up on the wrong side of the bed today? Or as the case may be, the wrong side of the table and chair?”

Was he seriously trying to be funny right now? I ignored him and unlocked the door.

“Good morning people!” Xena greeted happily.

“Morning,” I smiled and hugged her.

“You sound huffy. Did anything happen yesterday?” She asked, wiggling her brows.

“I'll talk to you about it later,” I said.

“Morning Xena,” Hayden greeted. He was already beside me in no minute.

“Excuse me Xena,” I said and walked away into the bathroom. After doing my thing, I realized my clothes were in Xena's room. “Xena! Xena! Please bring my clothes!” I shouted.

After some seconds, a hand came in with a black dress. I collected it and wore it quickly.

“Thanks,” I said.
