Just a kiss from him sent thousands of butterflies lightening fireworks in my stomach. After about fifteen minutes of kissing each other like our lives depended on it, he drew away. I stood up from him slowly.

"You're a good kisser," he replied.

I bit my lips as I blushed. This is embarrassing. "You aren't bad yourself," I replied.

"You just had to make use of meiosis didn't you?" He asked.

"I can't help it," I replied. I still haven't been able to look at him which left me wondering what if that kiss had led to something bigger? Would I leave his house then?

He held my hand and sat next to me. "I'm sorry if you're upset with what I did," He apologize.

"I'm not." Jeez man! I've been waiting for that since like forever. "What makes you think I am?" I asked.

"For starters, you still haven't looked at me since you rolled off me," He said.

"What if I'm just being shy?" I asked.

"I've never seen you that way before," He said. Tease. He used his thumb to tilt my face in his direction and I smiled and looked away again. "Seeing you blush only makes me wanna kiss you again," He said.

"Then why don't you?" I asked.

"I could," He replied. I turned to face him swiftly. "If you want it."

"Don't ask."

"I wasn't asking."

"Whatever..."

He smirked. "Camilla, I..."

When we heard something break, it cut him off and we stood up fearfully too. We rushed out of the room and headed for the parlour.

"Orton! Orton!" He shouted but it didn't reply.

I heard slow, low wailing and traced it to the kitchen. Orton was on the floor and his leg was bleeding. I noticed the broken glasses scattered on the floor.

"Hayden! Come here!" I shouted.

I run to Orton and carried him in my arms before heading out of the kitchen. Hayden met me by the door and he became worried.

"Orton?" He called. I dropped him on the chair and Hayden sat beside him. "Oh my goodness! I should call his vet," He said and searched for his phone.

"It's nothing we can't handle Hayden," I said. "Get me antiseptic and cotton wool," I said and bent over. He dashed out.

I took a look at the bleeding leg and noticed a broken glass stuck there. I reached for it but Orton wailed even louder. Hayden came back with the antiseptic and wool.

"Hold his front legs please," I said. He did as I said.

"What do you wanna do?" He asked.

I didn't reply him. I just pulled the glass out and Orton cried. I dropped the glass on the table and used some wool and antiseptic to clean the injury.

"I'll get a bandage," Hayden said and stood up to leave.

I patted Orton's body to calm him down. Hayden returned with the bandage so I wrapped it around the injured area.

"He's gonna be okay. I'll go clean the pieces of glass on the kitchen floor up," I said and stood up.

"Wait. I'll do it. You shouldn't be," He stopped me.

"I'm pretty sure Orton would want you with him right how. Plus, it's no trouble," I said. I picked the blood stained piece on the table and went to clean the others up.

A day passed and Orton was laying on my bed in the room I was given. The room was directly opposite Hayden's. I placed my head on it's soft furry body using him as my pillow and going through a story on wattpad. The whole time, my mind was with the endangered people and memories of Hayden and I kissing. Gosh Camilla!

Hayden walked in in a tank top, showing off his muscles that could make just about anybody sworn. I rolled my eyes. He jumped on the bed beside me, staring at me as I read. I felt uncomfortable and dropped my phone.

"Good. I didn't have to talk to get your attention," He said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Nothing sweetheart. Now, I would love to stare at you silently and you can do the same to me," He winked.

I laughed. "Stop being such a flirt and tell me how you intend to safe whoever you wanna," I said.

"You just had to ruin the mood didn't you?" He grumbled.

"That's what Camilla Veda does," I smirked.

"You look cute when you smirk," He cooed.

"Stop trying to change the topic and focus!" I said with an ordering tone.

"Fine. Fine. We'll go there disguised and get Ashton out," He replied.

I smiled. "You didn't tell me it was Ashton! I'll finally get to see him again," I said.

"Stop and concentrate," He scolded.

"Are you jealous?" I asked teasingly.

"What if I am?" He asked.

"Then it's just your own luck. Now, tell me what we are going disguised as," I said.

"These," He took two masks out of his pocket. He gave me one. "A chip is connected to each mask and it'd change your voice too," He said.

"Really?" I wore my mask and smiled. "How do I look?" I asked but my voice sounded high pitched and stupid. He laughed. "Really? You just had to pick this rubbish voice for me?"

"It's not my fault okay? I just found it in my bag of masks and it was the only feminine mask I have," He replied.

"Just wear yours," I said. He did. I stood up and went to my vanity to check my mask. He came and stood beside me, hovering above me. Curse my cute height.

He lowered his mouth to me ear level. "I will always prefer the unmasked Camilla," He said. I held my breath. Too close! Too close! He stole a peck on my cheek and ran out.

"Hayden!" I shouted.

I heard his laughter echo in the passage. I smiled to myself. Maybe he does like me. Smiles.
