chapter ten.
hi, society

Hey, Upper East Siders, it's that time of year again. When the mere act of descending a staircase means you're a woman. That's right, debutante season. And from what we hear, there's been some changes to the line up.

DEBUTANTE SEASON HAD finally arrived, an event of the season that Victoria Jeanette Humphrey didn't own any particular interest towards. Though, she did own thanks. She was thankful for the Humphrey family, and how they didn't participate in such classics events that involved dancing, the overdressing alongside overthinking about how you walk and how exactly you were to be perceived as a woman to strangers. Victoria didn't own an understanding behind a debutante, her brows would furrow and for a moment, in the midst of her sister's explanation, she would find herself dreaming off into a thought about something else.

Oh, Jenny Humphrey loved the whole idea of a debutante ball, which was why she didn't mind explaining it over and over again towards her siblings. Though they were extremely tired of hearing about it. But there was a thought that they owned interested considering they walked in direction towards where rehearsals had begun for the evening where a teenage girl could act as cinderella for the night.

Victoria's stroll between her siblings wasn't so much in the interest of watching the behind the scenes of a debutante. No. She was the moral support of her twin brother, making his way through the streets of New York to meet the woman that Serena van der Woodsen never stopped gushing about. Her grandmother. Celia Rhodes, or CeCe ( how others would know her ). The way that Serena sung her grandmother's praises had made Dan worried, he didn't want to get on the bad side of Celia Rhodes, he actually wanted to be make a long lasting impression on her. A good impression.

Dan Humphrey was a boy filled with a hectic amount of nervous energy, especially when meeting new people, he tended to ramble on and on, seemingly never ending until something stupid would slip past his lips unintentionally.

Well, Victoria was going to keep her brother steady, but she was also interested to see if any chaos was to happen to any of the girls practicing for the debutante alongside their escorts.

Jenny owned a slight bounce in her step as they traipsed the streets of New York City. She owned an excitement that neither her siblings had understood. It was a constant question as to why exactly the debutante ball was such an exciting thing. It seemed awfully old traditional. There were other ways, with worse words that Dan could describe it, but what caused for Victoria's shudder was the idea of having your hair pulled, being squeezed into the dress of choice and walking around in heels made to make your feet hurt.
