NATE ARCHIBALD BECAME rather accustomed to the way the Humphrey loft worked. In some ways it was similar to how things worked in his home before it turned south. Every night it was required for them to eat dinner together, it was always a strong instruction to support everyone with what they put out into the world. There was seemingly a tradition for music to be played and Nate admired the way each Humphrey child had days where they directed time towards their art, either designing, painting or writing. The Humphrey loft didn't rest from craftsmanship and the support for one another didn't cease.
The Archibald even watched the way the siblings interacted with one another, how they both cared and took time with each other. Sometimes Nate wished his parents would've thought to have more children. He'd love the idea of having a younger sibling. Nate admired the way Dan cared for his sisters, making sure each day that they were doing okay. Though they came to care for each other, they teased and tormented. One day, Nate had seen Dan and Victoria fight over the last cookie which ended with the back of hands being reddened from slaps.
Nate was more than grateful for them welcoming him to their home. Occasionally, he was saddened that he and Victoria hadn't spoken much word to each other since the day he moved in. Well, Victoria believed it was for the better if they hardly exchanged words as Nate and Dan were the ones who were friends. Victoria stuck to Jenny's side, laughed and hanged out with her when she wasn't busy working. From the talk of Jenny's concern, Victoria found herself being more connected with the young blonde and spending more time with her.
Jenny's work found itself consuming her in the midst of her homeschooling. Victoria didn't know when she had seen Jenny take a true break, in fact, it was rather tiresome to see her running around after Eleanor Waldorf. Victoria couldn't help but pinch her nose that morning pained by Jenny's high pitched tone that screeched down her cellphone pressed to her ear.
The moment alarms rang through the Humphrey loft, Jenny had been rushing between getting ready, collecting her belongings for work and listening to the phone calls that reached her cellphone. "What? No, what do you mean the herringbone won't arrive until tomorrow?" She walked with pace out of her room in a panic from the words that echoed through her cell. "The meeting with the buyers from Bloomingdale's is today." She grabbed a waffle sitting amongst the pile on a plate. "No, I don't care about Italian customs."
"Well, if the electricity goes out, we found our new energy source." Dan quipped as he gestured towards the girl who rushed for her travel mug and the coffee.
