As a famed literary liar once told Oprah: 'Memory is subjective.' Memories can be embellished. Or denied. But as James Frey knows all too well, the truth always comes out.

PREPARING FOR A life that was entering into the world was deeply overwhelming, as the world owned the good, the bad and the ugly. But preparing for their life meant that you'd do everything to protect from the bad and the ugly and show them the good and the beauty. All Victoria wanted to do was greet Emery into a world where there was nothing bad and nothing ugly, and with the rekindling of her and Nate's relationship there was already something good that Emery was to be surrounded by. Her parents were together, her family were close and there were people who aren't her blood but yet were preparing to protect her just the same as her parents. Victoria loved the excitement that came from her friends, from her family and the vow they were making towards her daughter before her birth. But yet it had hit her.

Emery's birth was right around the corner.

Was she prepared to be a mother? Was Nate prepared to be a father? Were either of them prepared to be parents? Were they prepared for Emery? When it came to gathering a list of the items needed before the birth of Emery, they had found they had nothing that would either ease her into the world or clothe her. How on earth had they fallen so behind in gathering the items that was needed to help with protecting Emery from the bad and the ugly?

Ok. So was Victoria prepared to be a mother? Well, not having clothes, accessories or the likes of toys for her daughter gave her a definite answer. No. Emery hadn't been born and Victoria was beating herself up about what she had failed to do as a parent. She sulked and she groaned about her failure, and Nate knew it was no fuss as they could wander the streets of New York to find all of the items they needed. Their time might've been running out but they still had weeks until Emery was about to fall into their arms, and be part of the world they lived in.

Though they ventured from store to store, having to carry more bags after each visit as there was always thought that they needed another onesie or another bib or another pacifier, Victoria remained rambling on about how they had only managed to hit the stores for possessions for their daughter weeks before she was due. Nate didn't know how to comfort Victoria when her thoughts had run wild and seemingly consumed her in ways he hadn't seen. It was hardly ever when he'd catch Victoria insecure, but here it was and he had no idea on how to consul her. He felt bad about it, too, because she always knew how to consul him when he felt an ounce of insecurity that he'd voice.
