It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. Seems Dickens knew something about life on the Upper East Side, where the only thing you can count on is that time changes everything. Word has it S gave up politics to focus on issues closer to her heart. And T is welcomed into motherhood more and more each day.

EMERY ALISON ARCHIBALD was a month old, and boy, how a month rushed by. From the moment that Emery was rested into Victoria's arms, she never accounted for how fast time seems to pass by with a child to take care of. It felt as though it was only yesterday that she had birthed Emery, that she was greeted into a world prepared to treat her well and challenge her. The time gone had been pondered on where it vanished to. Victoria didn't answer, she'd stammer and shrug her shoulders as Nate remained completely dazed over the fact he had a daughter and she was going faster than he had come to terms with being a father. It was a month since they became parents and Emery was a month old. Surely, they felt as though they were counting the days wrong.

Alison, Victoria's mother, would laugh and only reassure that the feeling as though they were losing time was normal, but yet it didn't donate comfort to them over Christmas and New Years down in Hudson. Well, actually, it made Victoria more eager to take photos of her daughter, every moment counted and she didn't want to forget the little things. For example, the way Nate cradled Emery in his arms when he walked around the house, or when Alison relaxed with Emery on the couch, keeping her occupied while it was her turn to hold the baby in her arms. The little moments were moments Victoria didn't want to forget, making her wanting to capture them just like the biggest moments that came and were yet to come.

Christmas in Hudson consisted of opening presents, drinking eggnog, and spending time together. Alison had wanted to spend some time with her granddaughter, as it was going to be rare times when she was going to visit New York, but she'd yet try her best. With time demanding to be spent with Emery, Alison only found herself demanding for her daughter's family to stay a little while longer. A few more days down in Hudson. Neither Nate or Victoria complained, they lounged around and admired the way Alison loved Emery, the baby girl able to crack the smallest of smiles as soon as attention was pointed in her direction.

It had been thought, aloud, if New York was yet the place they wanted to grow up Emery. The answer was a firm yes. They couldn't imagine bringing her up anywhere else. As the city had been Victoria and Nate's home since birth, they only wanted their children to enjoy the city as much as they had growing up, and still growing. When arriving home from their stay at Hudson, they were greeting to the winter chill of New York, protecting Emery from the sharp cold that did slightly turn her nose a bright red.
