FOR THOSE WHO applied for Yale to attend in the Fall, to aid their future and path them a way to success, the acceptance news was due to reach the cells of the teens with the interest of attending that Ivy League School. It created an anxiety for many students but this overwhelming sense of confidence was felt within a minority. What did Dan Humphrey feel? Victoria hadn't been given the chance to quiz her brother as he had skipped his way to see Serena van der Woodsen, and Victoria had nibbled down breakfast with Nathaniel Archibald. Well, the middle Humphrey did feel her own anxiety as she knew how hard her twin worked for the day he was to be accepted to Yale. He was going to be accepted. Oh, how Victoria prayed.
Nate had listened to all of the words that rolled off Victoria's tongue. All she did was talk about Dan and his future. She told Nate how hard he worked for Yale. How he made sure once he received a letter of recommendation he sent it to the Dean of the university. Even how he was dedicated to making sure his grades were picture perfect. His SATs score was too high to be ignored or even rejected or waitlisted.
The Archibald had always wondered what it was like to have siblings, and that was of fault of the Humphrey teens. He wondered if he had a sibling would they vouch for him the way Victoria, Jenny and Dan did for each other, alongside support them and simultaneously feel each other's anxieties. He even wondered what it was like to have a twin, to have that connection far deeper, where feelings were sensed and birthdays were spent together on the same day. The Humphrey children showed how good having siblings can be, and he was grateful to have witnessed it during his stay at their loft.
Victoria's rambles begun to cease the moment she had noticed the lingering gaze that Nate had on her, it was as if he was caught up in deep thought as his stare loomed over her. Her cheeks turned crimson, suddenly overwhelmed by her boyfriend's stare. "What?" Victoria's voice appeared timid, a shyness that Nate had hardly seen of her.
Nate's head shook. "Nothing." He dismissed.
"Well, you're staring." Victoria reminded as her arm secured a grip around his lower torso.
"No." Nate objected, and he was a little embarrassed that his lingering stare upon his girlfriend had gone noticed. He had loved the way her eyes brightened as she spoke well of her twin, and how she didn't care that she had rambled deeply on and on about Dan Humphrey. "No. I am just. . ." He didn't know how to explain himself leading to him saying. "It's really nice. . .the way you support your brother. I wish I had that."
