chapter twenty-four.
chuck in real life✧
There's nothing quite like autumn in New York. But it's not only the leaves that change. Something in the air brings out the true colours in everyone.

"MEDICINE CABINET, BESIDE table, underwear drawer?" Dan marched out of room, gripping onto a yellow flyer with arched brows and the invasion of privacy committed by the three girls seated at the kitchen counter, they were surrounded by clutters of the identical flyer that the raven haired possessed in his hold. There was a cause that Vanessa was supporting, to keep open a speakeasy that had historical significance, and Victoria had slipped a flyer everywhere around the house that would grasp the attention of the Humphrey to create a form of moral panic. "It's borderline solicitation, Tori, and. . .and, uh, creepy." He knew to blame his twin sister, as she loved to dramatise certain situations to have the attention of others. Well, she hadn't committed an act as such in an awfully long time. A tantrum or the emphasis of a problem was something she did when she was fourteen. Four years later it seemingly didn't change on what she cared most about.
Vanessa countered. "It wouldn't be creepy if you'd actually read the flyer." The Abrams was rather thankful for the help Victoria and Jenny were giving even as they owned their own lives, and had further concerns. Victoria was on the verge of graduating and continuously trying to impress all scholars while Jenny, now homeschooled, and working full-time at Eleanor Waldorf's trying to balance both workloads. It was a decision that was made over the weekend while Dan and Victoria were at Yale. A time in which Victoria wished she could get back.
The assumption Vanessa made about Dan blindly looking at the flyer and what he signed earlier within the week, was a wrong thought as he spewed. "You're on a mission to save Dutch Schultz' favorite speakeasy. What are you protesting? The owner died, didn't he?"
"He did," Vanessa nodded. "which is why the building is up for auction. And if we don't stop the sale, it won't be long before some evil developer turns it into a Pain Quotidien."
Jenny perked. "Oh, I like Le Pain--." Victoria interjected, her hand slipping over Jenny's mouth with the intention of not trying to provoke Vanessa into her serious rant about her demise of capitalism or further societal issues revolved around the rich.
"We're doing a petition for landmark status—."
Jenny pushed Victoria's hand away from her mouth. "Uh, which you signed, and Dad signed and Mom signed. . .and. . ." The girl looked at the last name. "and Eleanor Waldorf.
"Ooh." Victoria sparked with an idea. "V, how about you come to school with us this morning?" She pointed between herself and Dan. "You can hand out flyers to the guilty rich."
