ONCE, VICTORIA HUMPHREY could taste Columbia. She'd lick her lips because she knew that it was within her grasp as her time at Constance Billard was coming to an end. Now? Well, Victoria didn't taste such a thing. However, she possessed a knowing that she was doing the right thing. She could sense it in her bones and she swore to herself that she would never come to regret it. Victoria chose to keep the baby. It was her choice. It had been when she heard the heartbeat for the very first time. She knew she wasn't going to do it. All of a sudden, for her, the baby felt part of her body, and her heart warmed when she realised that she was creating a life she felt prepared to grow up than when she was sixteen years old.
What happened when she was sixteen was to not be uttered. Victoria pushed the reminder to the back of her mind and begun to contemplate how exactly she was to tell her father, her siblings and. . .well, Nate.
Alison had been gifted by her daughter's visit to Hudson, it was rather unexpected and rather a short trip during the weekend. Oh, Nate had protested and demanded for her to stay within his arms, when she had slipped away from his grasp the lips he owned pouted as he watched her take each step away from.
Victoria's mother didn't take the news of her pregnancy too lightly. In fact, her eyes welled up in tears and she immediately suggested an option that Victoria was quick to dismiss. Disagreements were spewed between the pair, and Alison only feared for her daughter's future ( which had to go on pause ). The disagreements ignited by shock soon turned to tears, ice cream and hugs. Amongst it all, Alison offered her support the best she could from Hudson.
It was hard, to utter the words to the family she lived with. How was she to explain to her father that she'd have to not think about going to Columbia? It was hard to because he was already fuelled with this excitement that led them to an antique store sitting along the streets of Brooklyn.
Rufus Humphrey even had a skip in his step as he knew he was going to be able to afford college for his children, or even for the next few years of their life. Victoria loved her father's enthusiasm and the one thing she didn't want to do was batter it to ruin his mood. So her silence remained.
"Anything you want, guys!" Rufus exclaimed as he gestured towards the clutter of the vintage items sitting along the walls of the antique store. "You're graduating high school, that's a big deal." Victoria weakly chuckled as Rufus' excitement caused his hyperactivity that led to the shift in topic. "How about a trunk?" He suggested. "Trunks are great for storage. Books—you're gonna have a lot of books at college. Or. . ." Rufus pointed a finger at Victoria. "Or your painting tools. Hey, Jenny," The man didn't once slow down. "maybe you need a trunk too. Any one you want."
