Gossip Girl here, welcoming you to the New Year when Manhattanites who flew south for the sun return to their Park Avenue perches. Which means I have a lot of catching up to do. Word is, Serena van der Woodsen tangoed in the New Year in the plazas of Buenos Aires. Guess that means Lonely Boy was all alone when the clock tolled 12. Unlike T, who spent New Years kissing Nate Archibald underneath the fireworks. And what of Little J? Rumour is, she's trading runways for hallways. So long, high fashion. Hello, high school. Blair Waldorf has been spotted making inroads at the Colony Club. With high school nearing its end has Queen B found a new social ladder to climb? So the only real question remaining: Where in the world is Chuck Bass? And is he ever coming back?

THE NEW YEAR finally arrived and past, leading Victoria to feel as though she needed to move on with some aspects of her life. Well, the only thing she wished to be rid of was the tension between her and Jenny Humphrey. The numerous apologises flooded from Jenny's lips, the look of guilt consuming her and it truly had eaten her up inside. Jenny wished to have taken back all of what she had said and what she had done, but though it couldn't she was grateful that it had been put into the past. Her and Victoria could easily move onwards and upwards. After all, they both missed each other.

Victoria hadn't only been grateful about the rekindling her and Jenny committed during the winter break. Instead of heading to Hudson for the winter, Victoria stayed within the comfort of the Humphrey loft while Alison and Alex kept them company during the absence of Rufus Humphrey. He was searching Boston for an artist to feature at the gallery. The thing was, staying in New York during the break meant she was closer to Nate.

Nathaniel Archibald spent Boxing Day, with his mother, at the Humphrey loft. Victoria told that she, Dan, and Jenny would be cooking which was a normal tradition on Boxing Day, where it was just food that hadn't been fully consumed on the Christmas evening. Then New Years Eve was spent kissing beneath the fireworks the moment the clock struck twelve. Victoria never had someone to kiss so deeply passionate and fuelled with love, which made her love it even more. Nate sparked something in her and it was her desire to never let that go.

The time spent with Nate beneath the fireworks lingered on her mind and she'd smile to herself because after all the hurdles that they went through during the start of their relationship they were in a steady place with one another. Dan was too busy to notice the giddiness sprung on Victoria's face as she stood beside the coffee machine caressing a mug of coffee she had already poured for herself.

Dan Humphrey's attention was fixated upon what Serena van der Woodsen had posted to her social media that showed how hard she partied the nights away in South America. He'd sit there, captivated by her bright smile, with the wonder of what could've happened if he had persuaded her harder to stay with him in New York than following after her boyfriend she lacked feelings for. However, what Dan was doing was unhealthy. He was longingly staring at pictures reminding him on what he did not have.
