Chapter 9: I Have A Soft Place In My Heart Called Love

"What happened to you and (Your name) in court yesterday?" Gunther asked Levi. You sighed and had a flashback to yesterday's events. You looked away from Gunther, clearly annoyed with the same repetitive question asked numerous of times to you. "What's wrong, (Your name)?" Gunther asked. "Tch, clearly we both don't want to answer that question. Therefore, anyone else who asks that exact same question again, will be punished severely. Got it?" "Crystal." Petra, Erd, Oulo, Gunther, and Eren said in unison. Levi nodded his head in agreement and sipped his herbal tea. You looked back at the confused squad and sighed. "I'm sorry." You said quite sincerely. "It's fine, (Your name). I shouldn't have asked in the first place." Gunther said with a light chuckle in the end. You looked at Levi, although, Levi didn't return the gaze. As you stared back at your black liquid in a cup, you felt something warm and soft on your small fragile hand. You gazed down and saw that Levi has intertwined his hand with yours. He squeezed your hand causing your cheeks to flare a little. "L-Levi" Levi lowered his head to your level and whispered into your ear. "What?" He whispered bluntly. "W-Why are you holding my hand?" "Is there something wrong with holding my lovers hand?" You shake your head in response. Quickly, you looked back at the dazed squad. Luckily, nobody was paying attention to the both of you. Before you could say anything else to Levi, you almost forgot about Commander Erwin. You had to talk to him and explain everything about the court incident yesterday. Gently, you released your hand from Levi's grip and stood up, causing six pair of eyes looking your way. "I'm sorry, I'll be back for training. However, I need to go talk with the Commander. Excuse me." Everyone nodded and went back to their conversations, except Levi. Before you could leave the scene, you felt something pull you back. It was Levi's hand that had got in the way of you escaping the dining room. "I'm coming with, (Your name)." "Le-" "This is my doing, (Your name)." You sighed and nodded in agreement. Levi loosened his grip on your wrist and walked with you down the empty, lonely hallways.

The walk to Commander Erwin's was silent. It was if even a mouse could squeak, and yet, the atmosphere around you wouldn't change at all. The Commander's office was still three corners away. Although you would be silent most of the time, you couldn't stand the silence anymore. You were the first to speak. "This is my fault, Levi. You didn't have to come." Levi stopped in his tracks and looked down at you. "This IS my fault. I should've never agreed to Petra's desires. I love you more than anything in this lonely place we call a world." You smiled gently and nodded. Levi returned the gesture and continued walking.

Both of you finally arrived at Commander Erwin's office and knocked three times. "Come in." A masculine voiced echoed behind the door. You both complied to his offer and entered through the wooden door. "Cadet (Last name) and Levi. What brings the both of you to my office?" "Commander, I was hoping to have a word with you in private, if you may." "Oh? What is wrong Cadet (Last name)?" Levi sat down on the couch beside the Commander's desk and crossed his legs. "Commander, about yesterday's incident in the court room...I am dearly sorry for it. I wanted to escape from my own feelings instead of confronting them. I didn't mean for any of this to happen." Commander Erwin widened his eyes as you were speaking to him. "Is that so, Cadet? Excuse me for asking this, however, why would you want to escape your feelings?" You looked at his eyes and locked gazes with him. "P-Personal things happened at the castle, Commander. I'd rather not talk about them." You stuttered. "I see. Well, there is no need for apologizing because I handled the situation and everything is under control once again. Is that you have to say Cadet?" "Y-Yes, Commander!" You exclaimed while saluting to the man. "At ease. I am aware of Levi's relationship with you, therefore, you may call me Erwin in private. No formalities needed." Erwin stated while smiling happily. You blushed and nodded. Levi stood up from his seat and walked towards you. "We'll be leaving now, Erwin." "Wait. I have some paperwork for you Levi that you need to finish. As for (Your name), I need to have a talk with you in private as well. Excuse us." Levi made a "Tch" sound and started to work on the paperwork. As for you and Erwin, both of you walked outside to discuss the private conversation. "(Your name). Never in my life have I ever seen Levi happy in my life. Before you came, Levi would always be angry and sad, never showing any emotion on the outside. However, it seems that you have unraveled his true self underneath all that sadness. Has he told you the story of his past?" You shake your head. "Later on, ask him about his past. If he tells you, then it really proves that Levi has changed for the better. If he doesn't, then that means Levi is still coping with the memories.I know that he loves you very much. Therefore, I promise he will tell you about it. The reason why I am asking you for this favor is because, Levi needs to forget about the past and remember the present." You widened your eyes and then soften them. "I understand. I shall ask him later on today."

Before you both could enter back into the room, Levi opened the door. "I'm done." "Great! I shall see you both at supper then." With that statement, Erwin closed his door behind him. "What did that man say to you?" "Nothing. We were just discussing about the next expedition. Nothing to worry about." Levi sighed then nodded. As you both were walking to the training grounds, you were creating a way of how to bring the topic when talking to each other. Of course, it would have to be private.

(Author's Note): I am sorry for the late update. I had exams this week and had to study. Now that exam week is over. I finally received my grades back. Which is...STRAIGHT-A'S!!! I am so proud of myself!!! For a reward, I shall ask a question that I have been asked numerous of times...Do you guys think I should insert a LEMON SCENE in here?!!!
