Chapter 28: Serenity Is A Lovely Word

Your eyelids fluttered open and your face was flushed pure red. Levi's face was very close to your own. As if one inch closer and both lips will touch. Suddenly, your body started to get warm. Therefore, you pushed Levi's chest further away from your body. " What are you doing, brat?" His voice startled you, so you gazed up. Levi's eyes were shut closed, however, he talked to you. [ Maybe he's just talking in his sleep?] Pushing further, a grip landed on your wrist. " I asked you a question. You of all people should know to answer a question when your superior delivers one." " I'm sorry, Levi! I-I thought you were asleep." Levi opened his eyes, releasing his grasp on you. " Why are you pushing me away?" " I'm too warm. May you please move over?" You asked politely. " Tch, brat." Levi sat up and removed himself from the bed. However, your body was still warm. " What's wrong?" " I don't feel well. My head hurts and I feel dizzy." Immediately, Levi placed his left hand on your forehead and his right hand on the back of your neck. " Damn it!" He cursed under his breath. '' What is it?" " You caught a fever. Here, sit up." Levi ordered. As you attempted his demand, your body slammed back onto the bed. Your muscles felt heavy and you could barely sit up without assistance. A pair of long, slender arms carried your torso up and aligned your back against the wall.

" Good morning Levi and (Your name)!" Hanji greeted out loudly. " Shut up and get over here. The brat has a fever." " What?!" Hanji immediately walked over to you and cupped your cheeks. " Levi, go get some water. (Your name) cannot be dehydrated." " Sh**ty-glasses, she is sick. Not dehydrated." Hanji rolled her eyes and took a closer look at you. " Do you feel any pain?" " Just my head." " Oh. (Your name)'s fine then." Levi pulled Hanji's face away from yours and gave her a death glare. " What the hell are you talking about? (Your name) is not fine!" " It's just the after-effects of the medicine I gave her." You widened your eyes. " When did you give me medicine?" You asked the scientist, calmly. " When you were sleeping in the afternoon yesterday. Don't worry, the symptoms only last for a few hours." Hanji snapped Levi's hands away and walked out of the infirmary, smiling. " Dumb ass scientist." Levi cursed it. " It's fine, Levi. Besides, at least she made sure I wasn't severely ill." " Shut up brat and go to sleep." " I just woke up, I'm not tired." Levi ''tched'' and sat down in a wooden chair next to you. Your body felt hot all over. You were still inside your uniform and you wanted to change out. " Levi, may you please retrieve my night gown in our room? It's too hot in these clothes." " Tch, do it yourself brat." You grew angry and stood up from the bed. " What are you doing?" " If you won't go, I will." You took three steps before falling to your own demise. [ I hate being sick.] " Dumb brat." Levi loomed over your body, smirking. " Aren't you going to help me up?" " This is your fault. Get up yourself." You crawled towards a chair and climbed up the leg. However, you failed numerous times. Levi kept laughing at your attempts. You sighed, then an idea dawned upon you. " I wish Eren was here to help me. At least he has dignity to help someone in need."

Immediately, a pair of arms lifted you from the ground to the bed. " Tch, annoying brat. I'll get the damn gown. You stay put." Levi then left you all alone in the infirmary. You smiled. [ I knew he would.] You looked outside your window and saw the bright sun peering out from behind the clouds. " Beautiful." You told yourself. Sighing, you lied your hand on your abdomen. The area where Annie pierced her razor sharp teeth with. " I could've done more to kill her." You kept telling yourself. Suddenly, tears started to stream down your face. " Why? Why am I so useless to society? Petra, Oulo, Gunter, Erd... I'm sorry I couldn't avenge your stolen lives." You felt guilty for their deaths ever since the second they all died before your eyes. Then, a thought occured to you. " What happened to their bodies?" You asked yourself. The sound of footsteps echoed into the room. " Here, brat." Levi tossed you your gown and headed towards the doorway again. " I'll be back in the evening." Before Levi left, you stopped him. " Wait!" Levi stopped. The room went dead silent. " What happened to the bodies from the last expedition?"
