Chapter 10: Love, Lust, and Want Are The Three Main Pieces In Life

As you and Levi entered the training grounds, you departed and lined with the rest of the squadron. "Today for training is the usual. I shall be watching from behind the lines and tell if any of you need improvements. Understand?" Levi said in a bored tone. "Yes, Corporal!" "Now, I shall partner all of you up with your opponent. Petra and Oulo, Erd and Gunther, Eren and Mikasa, and (Your name) will be paired with me." Everyone stood next to their partners, including yourself. "You may start training, now." Everyone agreed and headed off to train. As you were walking, Levi pulled you back towards him. "You are excused from training today (Your name),  because we have somewhere else to go to." Before you could ask him where, he pulled your wrist towards the horse stables.

Levi grabbed the reins of his horse and charged towards the gates. You tightened your grip around Levi's torso and pressed your face on his back. "L-Levi! Where are you taking me?!" You yelled through the horses loud galloping hooves clapping along the ground. Levi didn't respond and you grew angry. A few minutes later, the horse came to a halt. Quickly, you unsaddled yourself from the horse and stared at Levi angrily. "What?" Levi asked bluntly while expressing no emotion. "Why are we out here? I thought we had training to do." "For you, training can wait. I want to show you something that I discovered a few days ago on an expedition. Follow me." Levi said while walking into the forest. You hesitated, then followed behind him. As you were following Levi, you kept on wondering what he had discovered recently. You were deep in thought that you accidentally bumped into something. You backed up a bit before realizing that you had bumped into Levi. ''I'm sorry, Levi." He didn't respond back to you. ''Levi?" You asked again. No answer. You looked the same way Levi was looking and widened your eyes. "Levi..." Levi finally looked your way and smiled. "Isn't it beautiful?" You both were looking at an outstanding scenery in the middle of the dark forest. The trees were arched, lavender lilies were sprawled out all over the ground, and in the middle was the only spot where the sunlight is shown.

Immediately, you ran in the middle and sat on your knees. Levi sat next to you and watched you as were playing with the lavender lilies. "Levi. This is so beautiful and breath-taking." "Our own secluded spot in the forest." You lied in the flower bed with your hair scattered all over the place. Levi took your hand. You blushed for a little while, before remembering what Commander Erwin said to you at his office. Still lying down, you rolled your head towards Levi's way and looked intimately into his eyes. "Can I ask you question?" "It depends on what the question is?" "It's just a simple one. You don't have to answer if you do not want to." Levi nodded as a response. "Excuse me for asking, however Levi, what was your past like?" He widened his eyes. "Why do you want to know?" "I want to know because it feels like we don't really know each other that well. I shall tell you mine, if you want." "I think I already know your background story, (Your name)." You sat up then tilted your head to the left side in a confused manner. "Your parents were eaten by titans and you joined the Scanting Regiment to avenge them, correct? That's mostly the reason why so many people join this Regiment." Levi only got one correct out of that whole statement which was that your parents died. However, not because of titans. "That's not my reason why I joined." "Then what is it?" "My parents died of Tuberculosis when I was young. My father was in the Scouting Regiment and my mother was an ordinary mother taking care of her only child. Life seemed normal and joyful. Until, one day my parents started to cough repeatedly every minute. When they coughed into their handkerchiefs, there would be blood stained on them. When they died...I promised myself that I shall carry on their legacy and help humanity fight against these monsters." You stopped talking and looked at Levi. He looked dumbstruck and astonished as you explained your history to him.

"(Your name). I didn't know that your family died because of that. I'm sorry..." Levi trailed off. "It's fine. Now, will you please tell me your story?" You begged him. Levi took your hand and held it against his broad chest. "Only if you don't tell the others." "I promise."
