Chapter 36: Execution

" W-What?'' You stuttered. " You're pregnant!" Hanji exclaimed. The sound of hands clapped together broke the exciting news. " Congratulations ( Your name). However, you still have to undergo a trial for the unauthorized execution of the female titan." You looked down and sighed. " l-" " I'll replace ( Your name). Put me in her position." Levi stood up for you. You looked at Levi, astonished at what he had just announced. " No." You spoke out softly. " ( Your name)'s correct Levi. She is the only one that can stand at trial." Levi stood in front of you in a protective stance. " Like hell she does. Now that l know ( Your name) is carrying OUR child, l will protect her no matter what the cost is. And you of all people should know what happens at the third trial Erwin." " W-What happens at the third trial?..." You asked quietly. "... Execution. But l won't let that happen to you. For now, just worry about our child." You widened your eyes and shook your head vigorously. " N-No Levi! This is my fault, l have to face the consequences!" " No! I'm going to trial and that's it! Hanji!" Levi demanded. " Y-Yes?" " Take ( Your name) back to her headquarters and lock her up. No matter what happens, do not let her escape that room!'' Hanji nods and takes your arm. You retaliate and struggle against her grasp. " Levi!" Slowly, Levi walked up to you and put something in your hand. He closed your open hand and kissed your forehead. " Let's go Erwin." Erwin nods, puts Levi in shackles, and walks away from your sight. Tears threatened their way out of your eyes. Hanji pats your back and brings you to your headquarters.

As Hanji brought you back to your lonely headquarters, she shut the door behind her, locking it the door with a key. " I'm sorry ( Your name). I'll try everything in my power to get him out of trial..." With those words spoken, the sound of footsteps were distancing away from your earshot. You looked at your hand to see what Levi gave you. As you opened your small hand, tears started to stream down your face and fall onto the floor. On the palm of your hand was a silver band to go on your finger. The outside of the ring were four letters engraved on it. " Levi..." You clenched the ring and sobbed even more. " W-What have l done?...."
