Chapter 15: The Truth Is Like A Rose, It Blooms

Every squad in the Scouting Regiment lined up at the gates, preparing themselves for the 57th Expedition. You sat upon your horse and sighed. " Are you alright?" Hanji asked you. You nodded and straightened as you heard the drawbridge opening." Squads... March forward!" Erwin yelled.

For twenty-five minutes straight, Levi's squad has been going further into the forest. You leaned forward on your horse to gain speed, although, you did not know what the plan was. " Captain Levi, what exactly is the plan?" Eren asked. " To navigate the female titan and protect you." Suddenly, you heard footsteps. " Does anybody else hear that noise?" Erd asked worryingly. You looked behind you and widened your blank eyes. " Captain Levi! The titan is right behind us!" Petra yelled. The footsteps started to get closer each minute. " Captain!" Gunther yelled. Everybody started to panic under the pressure, except yourself. " Levi!" Oulo screamed frantically. Still no reply back from the man. You used your maneuver gear  to zip-line into the trees. Everybody followed your lead.

All of you kept moving forward with the female titan right behind. " I have to-" " Don't Eren! We will handle the situation." " No!" " Have faith in us!" Oulo yelled, cutting off Eren. " Just follow Levi back to headquarters." Petra ordered. Levi walked up to you and wrapped his slender arms around your waist. " No way in hell will I leave (Your name)." Levi said aggressively. You slapped his hands away from you and stepped away from him, looking at the rest of the forest instead of Levi. " I'm fine, just protect Eren." Levi coiled his arms back and looked at Eren. " Are you going to just stand there or are you going to go?" Eren nodded and zip-lined away with Levi. " I have faith in all of you!" Eren yelled. Everybody smiled, except yourself. You were only focused on one goal, which was killing the female titan.

Erd, Oulo, Petra, and yourself zip-lined to the female titan and charged. Erd, Oulo, and Petra started to slice away the titan's eyesight. She fell onto the tree, with her hands still protecting the nape of her neck. " Charge at the shoulder blade!" Erd exclaimed. You were the first to slice the shoulder. Erd went in for the second blow, however, something odd occurred. One of the titan's eye opened and looked toward's Erd's way. In a millisecond, the female titan bit into Erd's torso and split the body into two. The bottom fell off while the torso was spew out by her mouth. " Erd!" Oulo and Petra screamed. You landed on a tree and collapsed on your knees. " The eye! She channeled all her re-generation into one eye!" Petra attempted to run away from the titan. However, the titan ran after. " Petra!" You yelled. You tried to save Petra, however, the effort was meaningless.

The female titan raised her leg in the air, targeting Petra. " Petra, mov-" The titan stomped her foot onto the tree and slid it down the trunk of the tree. Time froze before your eyes. During Petra's final moments, all you could think were Petra's sincere words when she told you the truth about her and Levi.

(Your name). You and Levi deserve each other. My jealously took the little sane part of me and corrupt it with insanity. I will just have to accept that you and Levi love each other dearly. You are very lucky to have him. Therefore... Do you forgive me?

A tear slipped through your eyes. [ I forgive you, Petra.] You were now filled with rage and fury. " Petra!" Oulo yelled. Oulo headed towards the titan. " Oulo, no!" The yelling was futile. Oulo was the third victim. The entire Levi Squad, was dead. Except you and Levi. The female titan looked your way and smirked. That smirk was your final breaking point. All the rage inside of you boiled and has now corrupted your sanity. Your eyes were now emotionless and blank, your hair did not flow in the wind, you did not smile. Your Kagune was now showing, and so was your true identity. A ghoul.
