Chapter 16: Vengence Comes With A Price

You stood straight on the wooden branch, your kagune at it's full strength. Your kagune slithered down your right arm and sharpened at the end. You only thrive to kill in this state. On the outside, you displayed no emotion. However, on the inside, your heart was slowly being consumed by madness. Your maneuver gear fell off your hips and down to the ground. The female titan swiped it's colossal hand at the tree, however, you jumped away to another tree branch before the impact. The female titan coiled back her hand and you saw the ligament disintegrate. Taking this as an opportunity to strike, you went in for the shoulder blade. Diving in the air and towards the arm, you sliced the joint clean. Instead of the monster roaring, it simply slid down the trunk of the tree. The ligament fell to the ground with a loud thud while you landed on her face. Her excess blood on your hands and face. You smirked as you licked away the fluid. " I told you Annie to not underestimate me." You slowly raised your arms and pierced the demon's eyes. You jumped up in the air, using all your strength and brutal force to kick Annie's titan head clean off. Once the head rolled off onto the ground, you saw Annie still attached to the titan's muscles. Her shut eyelids, stained with tears. You grabbed Annie by her collar and yanked her from the restraints of the deceased titan form. Dropping her unconscious body onto the ground. [ Revolting]. You thought to yourself. Annie slowly fluttered her eyes open and sat up. Once Annie saw your figure, she backed away.

" (Your name)! Get away from me! I-I'll turn into a titan once more!" You ignored the pathetic threat and instead grabbed her by her collar, pulling her body up. Frantically, Annie placed her hands on your arms, gripping the fabric tightly. Tears staining her blue eyes. " (Your name)! Stop this madness!" A voice screamed. The voice belonged to Levi. "Why?" You simply asked. Levi stood right behind you, with a bewildered look in his eyes. " Turn around." He ordered. You once again ignored his demand and pressed your kagune closer to Annie's skin. " Now!" Levi pulled your arm and body around 180 degrees. Levi stared down at your eclipsed eyes, dark red rings as your pupils. " (Your name)..." You turned back around and saw that Annie has escaped your grasp.
