Chapter 18: Why Do You Care For Me?

(Author's Note): Before I start the chapter, I would like to announce something. From now on, I shall be doing Anime recommendations. These Anime are in my opinion, therefore, you have a choice to either watch or not. Today's recommendation is 寄生獣：制の確立。(Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu). This is the opening of the Anime. The series just started and I love it so far! Therefore, please enjoy. The song does not belong to me. Thank you.

" I refuse to accept the case." The judge replied. " Why?'' Levi asked angrily. Everybody from the expedition returned back to Wall Rose and immediately to the Court House. " From what you have told me about her, the only choice is to exterminate the being. She is a ghoul, Levi. Guards, seize and eliminate the monstrosity. " You sat in the middle of the court room, heavily chained to the ground. " No!" Levi yelled. " Hold back Corporal Levi!" It's fine, Levi." You stated reassuringly. " (Your name)!" One of the guards came up to you with their metal blade. He raised his arm up and swung down with all his might.

*Clank*

" What?" The judge questioned nervously. Levi stopped rebelling and stood up straight, dumbstruck. The guard backed away, frightened. " Why-" " You cannot kill me with a blade because ghoul's are immune to blades." You interrupted the man's sentence. The shattered metal fell to the ground in three pieces. Everybody in the court room expressed a dumbfounded expression. " What are you talking about?! H-How do we kill you then?!" " Why would I tell any of you?" You asked while giving them an emotionless expression. " Please understand the circumstances you are in right now, Cadet (Last name). We do not need anybody else hazardous to endanger our lives more than it is now." " I accept my fate, however, only another ghoul can kill me. Therefore, the attempts are useless." The judge slammed his fists against the table, startling everybody in the room, except yourself. " Damn it! Do you know another one of your kind then?!" " I'm the only one left of my 'kind'. The rest are extinct." You stated irritated. " You-" " I have a resolution to this conundrum." All eyes were on Commander Erwin. " Is that so?" " Yes. I propose that the Scouting Regiment take in custody of Cadet (Last name). Therefore, responsible for any casulities that occurs. If any do, Corporal Levi shall handle the situation." " What?!" Levi yelled. " Do you have a problem with Commander's Erwin suggestion, Corporal Levi? Will you have a problem eliminating Cadet (Your name) when the incident occurs?" Levi looked at you, worried. You sat on the ground, motionless. " No. Whatever happens, I will take care of it. I swear on my life." Levi spoke, the last part darkly.

The judge rubbed his temple in agitation. " If one mistake happens to anyone within the walls, I will have to resort that the source was Cadet (Last name). Guards, release the ghoul into the Scouting Regiment. Case dismissed." Two men of the Military Police came towards you with the keys on them. As they unlocked your shackles, a pair of warm and slender arms wrapped around your small torso. " (Your name)." Levi whispered. You stroked his ebony locks and smiled. " Levi. I-I'm sorry." Levi pulled away and cupped your cheeks in his hands. " Shut up brat and let me enjoy this moment." Levi leaned and kissed you passionately. The kiss was full of lust and want only for you. He pulled away and smiled gently. " I love you, (Your name). No matter what you are. It doen't matter who you are on the outside, it's who you are in the inside that counts. Never forget that." Levi spoke softly. Your eyes returned back to their regular color and you smiled. A tear slipped through your eyes. " I-I love you too, Levi." With that statement said, both of you embraced each other.
