Chapter 20: Why Do You Love Me?

(Author's Note): Today's recommendation is Black Butler: Book Of Circus. I really love the opening even though I never finished watching the first season of Black Butler. Only watched The first episode and then I stopped. However, I shall watch the rest later on. The opening does not belong to me. Thank you.

" Uhh..." You groaned as you woke up from your slumber. Slowly, you rolled over to your left side and saw Eren still sleeping. You sat up and faced the front of the cell. " Good morning, (Your name)" Erwin greeted. Your heart skipped a beat, but you did not show it. " Hello Erwin. What are we doing today?"  ''Today, you and Eren are going to visit Hanji at the training grounds. To test out both your abilities." Erwin stated solemnly. You nodded and walked over to Eren. " Eren, wake up." Eren groaned groggily in response. " Hm?" " We have to go." " Go where?'' " To the training grounds." As soon as you finished, Eren shot out of bed. You twitched your right eye in annoyance to his eagerness. Eren turned around to gaze at you. " Come on, (Your name)." You sighed and followed Erwin and Eren to the outside world.

" (Your name), Eren, and Erwin. I'm so glad you three are here! Where's Levi?" Hanji asked confused.  ''He's in his office doing paperwork. I should be going in to check on him. I'm leaving them with you, don't let me down Hanji." " I promise I won't." Erwin nodded in agreement and left the scene. " OK. First, (Your name)..." " Yes?" " Can you transform on will or goal?" " Goal?" " Like Eren. He can only transform when he has a certain goal in mind." " Oh. On will then." Hanji rubbed her chin while nodding. " Were you born with the ability?" " Yes." " How was the ghoul in your family?" "..." You didn't respond. " The rest is classified. I'm sorry." Hanji smiled and patted your back in a sympathetic way. " It's fine! Now, let the training begin!" You smiled and nodded in agreement.

After five hours of training, you were finally finished. Honestly, Eren was the only in need of training because he had only received his power. You were born a ghoul, therefore, giving you the upper hand. Hanji clapped her hands together. " Ok! You both have three hours before supper. You can roam free!" You smiled. " Thank you, Hanji." Hanji smiled and waved as she left. " I'm going to visit Mikasa and Armin. Bye (Your name)." Once Eren left, you were left alone on the training grounds. [ I'll just go somewhere secluded.] You told yourself. Scanning the area around you, you saw the exact same hill that you and Levi created flower crowns. You smiled and walked towards it. As you reached your designation, you saw a figure sitting up against the tree. You gazed further and recognized the figure. It was Levi. [ I shouldn't bother him] As you attempted to leave the man, you accidentally stepped on a broken twig causing the sound to be heard clearly. " Who's there?" You turned around slowly. " (Your name)." Was all Levi could mutter out. You walked up to him and looked down. " May I sit down with you?" Levi softened his gaze and nodded. You smiled and sat down right next to him. " Why didn't you tell me that you were a ghoul?" " I thought that you would be frightened and leave me. And... I don't want to be alone anymore." " I don't care what you are. I love you and that's it." You smiled and lied your head on Levi's shoulder. Causing Levi to smile too.

" Who was the ghoul in your family?" There it was, the exact same question asked again. However, you loved Levi and trusted him. Therefore, he has the right to know. " My mother was the ghoul. My father was normal. He would always tell my mother to stay inside the house to stay safe because my father was afraid that people would find out the truth about her. If the Scouting Regiment found out, my father would be trialed for treason against the Regiment. Once I was conceived, I was to stay inside the house at all times. Because, I too, was a ghoul. Now that they both are dead, I must carry on their legacy." Levi wrapped his hand around yours and looked at your eyes. " You may have to carry on their legacy, however, you don't have to do it alone. I'll be with you every step of the way." You squeezed his hand and smiled gently. " Thank you, Levi." With that said, you both returned your gaze upon the sunset.
