"Mom?" Molly says in a panic as we listen to the gun fire going on and the shouting before it is silent. Molly had tears pouring down her face. I pulled her into my arms and hugged her.
"I'm going," Sam said grabbing his jacket. Cole puts his hand on his shoulder to stop him.
"No, you need to stay here with Josh and the girls.... Keegan, TJ, and I will go," he says as they all walk out the door.
"Hey Johnson," Keegan says making Sam look at him. "Don't let anything happen to her," he says. Sam nods in agreement as the boys all leave. Talia was in total shock and just staring at the phone not moving, while i was trying to get Molly to settle down. I looked at Sam who was checking on Josh now, he was doing okay, but i don't know how long he will last without a doctor.
"Molly listen to me," i say holding her face so she was looking at me. "Cole and the boys are going to get your mom, alright. She will be fine," i say not even knowing if what i was saying was the truth or not. She nods and goes to comfort Talia. I walk over next to Sam who was looking at Josh.
"Sam, he needs a doctor and you know it too," I say looking at the bandage that was now soaked with blood. Sam shakes his head.
"It's to risky, they will see us and follow us," he says getting mad and walking away. I follow him thinking, then it hits me.
"Sam wait," i say making him stop and look at me. "Remember when we were little, we used to play that one game in the woods?" i say trying to remember it.
"Gorilla," he says with a small smile remembering it. I nod.
"Yes, like the gorilla warfare they used back in the old days. We can do that, the woods is the perfect place to lose them so they can't follow us. We were good at it as kids, we can do it now," I say kind of proud that i thought of that. He looks at Josh then back to me.
"Alright, but i will go alone," he says making me look at him.
"Um, no! I am going with," i say grabbing my jacket. He shakes his head and grabs my hand to stop me.
"Cassidy i can't risk you getting hurt," he says with a lot of emotion. I look up into his eyes and hold his face in my hands gently.
"I will be fine, i'm a big girl," i tease walking past him to Josh. Sam shakes his head and comes over and we both move josh to the car which we plan on leaving at the hospital. Once we get him in the back seat we leave.
"I don't know about this idea Cass," Sam says as we pull out onto a main road. I look back to check on Josh, he was bleeding more now that we moved him.
"Trust me, we can hide good enough they will lose us in a matter of minutes Sam. Just like when we were little, remember it took you guys almost an hour to find me, and then it was only because i got bored," i joked making him laugh a little.
"Stay close though, please," he says as we pull into the emergency entrance. He rushes out and calls for help. A bunch of doctors rush over and take Josh away. Sam and I stand there and watch, Sam give the doctors some info and some phone number i never heard of before walking back to me.
"Cass," he says looking at me worried. Because i was looking straight ahead, at three guys dressed in black walking out way with their hands in their pockets.
"They were waiting for us," i say shocked. How did they know we would even show. Sam grabs my hand.
"Run Cass," He says looking at the guys. I don't question him, i take off the other direction with him behind me. We reach the forest edge and guns go off, they were shooting at us. Sam dashed next to me as we jumped over fallen trees and rocks. It was going good, almost deep enough but then another man came out of no where tackling Sam to the ground. I stopped and looked back.
"GO CASSIDY," Sam shouted at me as he was fighting the guy. I looked at him and was torn, but his eyes told me i needed to go. I took off running, i lost track of where i was at this point. I stopped behind a huge fallen tree with a thorn bush growing around it. I crawled into an opening without getting cut to hide and catch my breath. It was dead silent right now, i was far enough from Sam and the one guy i couldn't hear a thing.
It seemed like forever i was waiting there, every little sound i was on the look-out for someone. I heard a branch snap and i looked around in a panic. I was trying to be as silent as possible, because i didn't know if they were still looking for us or not. After it was silent i went to lean back to relax, but someone covered my mouth. I was about to scream or kick or hit but I looked and it was Sam. He was bleeding from his lip and his knuckles were bloody.
"Shhh," he says letting go of my mouth. I hugged him and he groaned a little.
"How did you find me?" i whispered. He smiled a little.
"Thorn bushes always were your favorite hiding place," he says as he looks around. I smile a little knowing that he remembered that from such a long time ago. He take smy hands nad leads me out into the forest again. We look around and see someone.
"Go," he says as we start running again. This plan isn't going as well as it was in my head, we would already be home if it did. As i was running i failed to see someone coming from the side until it was to late.
