We pulled over and Cole and Sam unbuckled.
"Cass, stay here and get ready to drive if we need it. I nod and when they get out i climb to the front. Sam lets the dogs out and they run around. I watch as Sam and Cole both have their guns ready. I open the window to hear.
"Cole take the right," Sam says walking to the left of the car. They slowly approch it and the dogs start barking.
"Sam!" TJ says crawling out of the car. Sam lowers his gun and walks over.
"What the hell happened?" he asked. TJ look around and then pulls Sam down just as guns go off.
"We were hiding," i heard him say then hear everyone's voices.
"Cole get them to the truck fast," TJ says as people crawl out of the over turned car. They dash and climb in the back of the truck, all dirty.
"Cass," Molly says hugging me. Cole and the boys come running and hope in the very back of the truck bed.
"DRIVE!" Cole shouts hitting the truck top. I floor it and we squeal out of there.
"Where are we going?" Talia asked as we all relax. Sam climbs through the window and sits next to me as i drive.
"Keegan is missing, we can't get ahold of him," he says making me panic.
"Wasn't he with you guys?" I look to Molly. She shakes her head.
"No, he left the car for help and never came back. we thought maybe he was with you guys but i guess now," Molly says in a shaken up voice. I slam on the breaks and everyone flies forward.
"What the heck?" Cole says sticking his head int he window from the back.
"You mean to tell me, you let Keegan go off on his own?" I say getting a little upset. TJ speaks up in that moment.
"He didn't go alone, we ran into Jason and Devin and they all left to get help... Jason said something about some other people hidding out. they wanted to go get them so that we had more people to fight back," he says making me frustrated.
"We need to go find them," I say making everyone look at me weird.
"Um, are you crazy, look around you Cassidy. We are in the middle of no where with killers after us, a whole gnag to be exact and you want to go back?" Talia says like I have completely lost my mind. I turn the truck off and sit there.
"What's crazy is us all running when our parents could be alive and need our help?" I snap at her.
"Hey, fighting isn't going to help anything right now," Sam says calmly looking at me. "Cass, listen," he begins but i stop him.
"No you listen, why are we even running? There is no where to go, they clearly are always one step ahead of us, which i have no idea how they are doing that at all. We have covered our tracks, and no one else knows about the safe house except us all." I say getting Molly's attention.
"Wait, didn't my mom say something about our phones?" She says pulling her cell out and looking at it. "What if they hacked the microchip, that would allow them to listen in on our converstaions wouldn't it?" She said making everyone take out their phones.
"That makes sense because I was talking to Sam about the safe house on it before we left.... You're a genieous Molly," He says as he takes everyones phones and throws them out.
"Now what?" I asked still mad. Sam smiles and loads his gun.
"Time we pay a little visit to some old friends," He says switching seats with me.
After driving awhile we finally stop at an old gas station. It was around midnight now, we have been driving for three hours back toward town. We all got out and went inside to get food and drinks while the boys talked outside.
"Ugh what i wouldn't give for a bath right now," Talia joked making us laugh.
"Yeah, when this is all over i am going to sleep for days," Molly says. I smile as they talk, i missed the normal stuff like this. Things have been crazy, really makes you miss the little things. LIke my family, i wonder if they are okay, alive for that matter. I mean i know there's little chance, but i hope when we get back home they are there and this was all a bad dream. Even though i don't see them often and they lied to me all my life, i love them and i would die without them with me.
"Is that the kid who smashed Sam's car?" Molly said next to me nodding toward a familiar face.
"Yeah," I said wondering what he was doing this far away from town. I walk over and lean on the wall.
"Knew you would notice me," He says with a smirk looking at the food in front of him.
"Alright i don't know who you are, but why are you hours away from town?" I asked him making him chuckle and take out a gun and point it at me.
"Cassidy!" Talia and Molly say in shock as they back up. The boys couldn't see, they were on the other side of the store outside still.
"I went through a lot of trouble to plant those mics on your phone. You are one hard family to keep track of. The boss wants you twins in alive though, so you're lucky," he says getting closer. I stand my ground, i mean what can i do, he has a damn gun!
"Why are you doing this?" I question as he smiles at me.
"The boss man told me, and the pay is high to get you in. Everyone is looking for you and your brother. There's a 3 Million cash reward for your capture sweet heart," He says twirling a piece of my hair around his finger.
"Who's your boss?" I question him as he walks around me.
"Now that is a question i can't give you, because know one knows who the boss is. We drop his targets off, get the money and leave without ever meeting him. Usually the targets are easy and not as rewarding, but something about your family he really wants. One our of four of you are already dead, but the rest of you went off the map," he says a little pissed. Wait one our of four?
