I woke up to the sound of talking outside. I sit up, i was still in the truck and it was dark out still. I look around and see Cole and Sam no where in sight, nor the dogs. I rub my eyes and the back door opens.

"We had to make a stop for gas," Cole says with a small smile as i climb out of the truck. I stretch my back and look around..

"Where are we?" I say because all i see was miles of nothing.

"We still have two more hours of driving, but it should go fast," he says as he waits for the truck to fill up. I lean on the truck and pet the dogs as they sit waiting as well. Sam was inside it looked like.

"You know, he is a good kid Cass. Don't hold back just because you think it would ruin things. We picked Sam for more then one reason. You two were perfect as kids, and today you guys are still perfect for each other. Dad always joked about you two falling in love and getting married someday with his parents when we were little. Things changed tho, but i can still see that spark between you two, it's still there but you never let people break your walls down. You haven't ever looked at any boy the same since Adien, i just want you happy," he says looking at me. I shrug.

"Yeah well, I'm not a little girl anymore Cole. And if you haven't noticed things are pretty messed up right now in our lives, i don't have time for stupid relationships," i say looking away from him. I hear him close up the gas tank and walks over and lean next to me.

"Don't kid yourself Cassidy, i see it in your eyes when you look at him. You can't lie to yourself and you can't lie to me," He says opening the back door and letting the dogs and in getting in. I was about to ask what he was doing but Sam beat me there.

"It's my turn to drive," He says from behind me with a bottle of water. I smile and take it as i get in the passanger side. Sam gets in and starts driving right away. It didn't take long for Cole to check out because when i looked back he was already asleep.

"Why are we even running? Can't we just call the police or something?" i say leaning my head on the window. Sam lets out a sigh.

"The cops won't get involved with gangs this big because they know it won't go over well. Instead they let the gangs fight it out or make deals, it's less problem for them. Once the police get involved then the gangs will start threatening the city and they don't want that. Law is stupid Cass, but it's how things are. We aren't running anyways, just staying away long enough to come up with a plan," he says as we get back on the highway.

"I thought you had a plan?" i say as i watch him.

"We did, but we didn't know there was this many people after you guys until a few days after they entered the city. When we heard they were taking over city after city we had to think fast, so we are coming up with something new," he says setting the cruise control so he could look at me for a moment.

"How did they get so big?" i say more to myself but he heard me.

"When they enter towns, some smaller gangs don't want to lose members or have people killed so they just join the bigger gang. That's why we had to run, there are so many members that we can't face them alone." he says focusing on the road. Why would they threaten people like that, people who haven't even done anything to them.

"I just want this over with," i say curling up in the seat and looking out the window. I fell asleep again to the soft sound of the radio playing in the background and the windows cracked open enough to let the cool night air in.

When i wake up we are pulling into a long drive. I sit up and look around.

"We are here," Sam says as he parks in front of a nice house. It wasn't anything huge but it sure wasn't small. I got out after he did and let the doors and Cole out.

"Wow, mom and dad really out did themselves," Cole says as we walk up to the house. I look around carefully, how did they afford this all?

"You forget they were secretly rich," Sam says. Guess i said my thoughts out loud, i need to watch it. I nod and stop, something doesn't seem right. Sam stopped as well, looks like he has the same feeling.

"Why aren't the others here yet?" Cole asked backing away.

"I only told them to keep moving if something happened," Sam says pulling out his phone. He dials up TJ and waits.

"Sam, i have been trying to call you for hours. Don't go to the safe house, they are there," TJ says in a panic. Sam looks around and things get really tense.

"Where are they?" Sam whispers.

"In the house, we seen them in the window and never even stopped, we kept going," TJ says. "You're there aren't you,"  TJ says trying to stay calm.

"How many?" cole says.

"We seen at least five, but there is no telling how many there could be..You guys need to get out of there," TJ says. Sam hangs up the phone and looks at Cole.

"They are watching us," Cole says nodding toward the window in the house. Sam moves me behind him and the dogs start growling at something behind us. We turn around just as someone shoots the truck tires. Cole's face was priceless, i know i should be seirous right now but he looked hilarious.

"Oh my turck, this just got personal," Cole says pissed as he pulls a gun out of the back of his pants. Sam pulls one out as well and i just stand there. How come everyone has guns except me?
